I'm still being paranoid about breaking this motor instead of just breaking it IN. Anyways I got back from about an 80 mile ride today and immediately plugged in ECMspy to see how my maps affected the AFV. I set them 5% richer than the race map and ended up with an AFV of exactly 100 at the end of the ride. My head temp sensor was reading 311*(F) and I've got a gauge on the dipstick in the oil tank.. it was reading right at 200. Are these normal temps? After looking through the SM I can;t |

I don't think you have to worry about cooking your motor. Temps are low-normal. Are you running an oil cooler? |

Oil temp should be hovering around boiling. your readings sound just fine to me. |

SWEET! exactly what I wanted to hear. No oil cooler but I've got the billet hurricane oil filter which looks like it would cool quite a bit with those fins. Maybe it's doing it's job afterall. Thanks guys! |

That's pretty much the same oil temps I got last year when I checked mine. (Plain stock motor.) This answers the question I ask in one of your other threads. Thanks for sharing this info with us. I bet you are dying to get that motor broken in. |

Don't have a guage on the Buell but I do on my BMW airhead and it is around 250 Degrees F. That scooter has 145,000 miles on it. |
