2007 I did 17k Miles in 7 months on a Uly, 2 sets of tires. My car got 32k miles, can't recall tires.
2008 my XB12SS got 16k miles, changed tires once. Car got about 25k miles.
2009 to date, 6k miles on the SS, changed the tires to puncture proof Diablo Stradas back in March (loving them). Car got a few thousand, and now I am car-less. I plan on getting at least 10k more miles on by time it gets chilly again, then I will get a Ural for the snowy days.
Here's a thought: There's about a ka-billion cars, trucks and bikes out on the roads today, each with from two to 18 or so tires. These tires wear out. Why aren't there piles of rubber dust lining all the roadways? Hmmmmm.
You really think E85 is better for your car and the environment? The more food we use for fuel, the more all food costs. I travel 15 minutes out of my way to buy ethanol-free gasoline, and I get better mpg with it.
I only run E85 in the car. The motor is a K20A2 built for high compression and tuned with Hondata for both E85 and 93 oct gas. I built the whole system to run on E85 and gas as a back up fuel. On the dyno we got 194whp/138ft# with E85 but was only able to get 188whp/121ft# with gas.
I only run 93 in the bike. I thought we were talking about carbon foot prints. E85 is much better on the environment! So driving the car I leave a smaller CO2 footprint than riding the bike.
This debate is not worth it, kind of like the "dyna beads".
Keep with the topic. So what kind of footprint are you leaving behind for our children, Bikertrash?
Ok, the whole "carbon footprint" & "global warming" is liberal BS, but anyway, I go about 20-25k miles a year, with a stock '03 Civic and '09 XB12, and free breathing '97 S1 and '07 510cc ATV.
I always use soft brake pads and drive with a foot on brake and hand on brake also.I don,t want our Planit to end up like Mars.E85 get into ground and pol-loots our Mother Earth and no ware near as efficient Natural oil!!!!!!!Drill Here Drill Now!!!!!!Stop giving money to enemies to make Wor on US.I Love My Oil powered Engines And not Rainbow powered Motors That go 20 miles before needing a 24 hour Charge!Pull Some GGGGGGGGGGs Butch
