Sparky, did you hear that i caught the bulk of your group at their stop at the Texaco in Trona? i spoke with a fellow by the name of Dennis, said he'd tell you i said hi. he thought you had gone on ahead, but my guess is that it was you i saw on the blue Firebolt just west of Searles Dry Lake as i made my way back to Ridgecrest (on a corner, darn it, didn't have a chance to get my hand out the window). ps to Jprovo: 500-600 mile days make for a miserable tour, IMO. sure you can do it, but you'll likely be whipped when it's all said and done. we've all been there, and ya gotta do what ya gotta do, but i consider back-to-back-to-back 500-mile days to be avoided at almost all costs. again, just my opinion, hope you have a GREAT adventure FB |

Ferris, yeah that was me on the blue 'Bolt loaded down with camping gear. It's amazing how smoothe the bike rides with just 20 lbs of gear over the rear seat. Approaching Trona, I had been following a white pickup that was travelling quite fast and I was looking for an opportunity to overtake him, but clusters of oncoming vehicles & the few curves by that sprawling chemical company conspired me to back off a little. Playing a little game, I imagined that you were driving that truck 'cause it was going so fast. So I says to myself, "Wow, I'm gonna take Ferris on the inside," but it never happened. He passed a motorhome and I got stuck behind it on a long right sweeper, bummer. So, your (virtual) reputation's safe. Anyhow, when Dennis told me his story of Ferris Bueller looking for Sparky, it added another high point to an increasingly perfect day of motorcycling. The only thing that would've made it THE perfect day would be for all my Buell riding friends to be there too! Oh well, maybe next time, eh guys? Jen's rested & doin' OK. Thanks, and see ya down the road. Sparky |

Jprovo, I have pics of the Buell/Velorex rig from the Oct '01 Griffith Park Sidecar meet. The installation, professionally done & featured in Battle2Win, appears rugged & the owner says it handles well with 2 people, kinda OK with 3. He signed up with GS BRAG last Sat. Ferris, that's not only cool, it's amazing! Where did they find a photogenic area in Trona? LOL You having fun with the S1W yet? I haven't heard from Savagetino since December's SCAB meeting. Perhaps next Thurs. I'm just curious if he fixed his Firebolt's stiff clutch action and if he wore out those 208s yet. He was having trouble getting the suspension dialed in & the 208s didn't seem to help. Sparky |

SCAB meeting news: San Diego Sportfighter alternate start -- Tat & Jerry Johnson are meeting the San Diego group in Ramona on Main St at the Chevron station at 10 am. That might work better for some of us. Give a courtesy email/call to Tat, Jerry or Fread if you'd rather meet there. Ebear's ALIVE, ALIVE! He can actually ride too. He brought us up to speed on the 3 camp sites he and Jerry reserved at Laguna Seca overlooking the Corkscrew. Note: Raffles are held to help pay back the campsite cost, so your attendance here is appreciated. Tat showed some new stuff like a nicely machined metallic XB dip stick, a FI code buster chart & jumper plug, & photos of a nifty XB9S under seat decorative gap filler grill. Sparky |

Spark: Do me a flavor and tell Jerry "howdy". He's been and continutes to be one of the best long-term Buell advocates I've ever known. I miss seeing him and it's always fun to hear about him. Ever met a more "wired" guy? Nothing but PURE ENTHUSIASM ! Court |

Anybody else crazy enough to consider a ride from CA to WI for the Buell 20th? (I'll probably spend a couple days there visiting family, too) I am thinking about it seriously but can't stand the thought of taking 10 days to get there. Wanting to shorten it up quite a bit. JProvo??? Whatchya think? |
