Checked out the bike today, 2005 XB9SX and the start up check worked fine, the needles did their little dance. The guy selling it says it is an intermittent problem. I decided I will take it off his hands... just have to wait to take the cast off my hand to ride it. (Broken 5th Metacarpal, RT hand) All I am going to say about that is that I am a martial arts instructor |

CONGRATS on the bike!! I'm not an electrical expert, nor do I play one on TV, but...sounds to me like a short somewhere. Or maybe a loose power connection to the cluster. I'm sure that you could ask anyone here to give you a hand (pun intended) and ride the bike home for you if you want to get it into your garage sooner rather then later. And it's good to know we have some martial artist protection now. Gotta keep those pesky rice burners in line. LOL!! |

Lol, Shodan, trained in mma, Shotokan, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Jujutsu, and Bansenshukai Ninjutsu. Also a Federal Ossifer... he he he If anyone is interested, I have a donations only school in Mount Vernon. I will have a friend of mine help me with the speedo problem, he is the parts guy at Cycle Search in Delaware, he is also one of my newest students at the dojo. |

Good luck on the speedo problem. I'm sure it's solvable, and hopefully in an easy and little or no cost manner. Totally off subject - I've been interested in Krav Maga for some time actually. I've been able to walk or talk my way out of most any fight, but after I got mugged (left with a broken nose and little dignity after running for my life) I've wanted to learn to deal with situations where it came down to me or him. Look for a PM from me about your school. |

Busy, a lot of cool bikes especially the 4 Buells these really cool guys rode in on... On a more serious note there were some really nice bikes the busa's were crazy powerful looking. I think we need to get some cards or something to put them on all the Buells we see around. There wan an 1125r that was new from Hales, didn't see the owner. COBRA cards? Funny you mention that...Lisa and I were just talking about that the other day. How about something like this? I can get 500 like this for about $25 (the price more then doubles if we want to use our own logo & design): Front of card:
Back of card:
Thoughts? (Message edited by thump4fun on May 21, 2009) |

I like the idea Bruce.... beats putting a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper on someones bike. I will forward this idea to our local dealer to see if we can get a little "Help" It would be cool to have them business card size so they would fit in your wallet. |

Well maybe I'll just go ahead and order a batch. They're only about $25 and they are actual business cards. I ordered Lisa some personal cards last year so I know the quality is pretty good for the price. Hey Mark aren't you supposed to be on the road? Or are you multi-tasking while you ride? LOL Sitting in Farrows at Northstar myself, waiting on my clutch cable being replaced. |
