It landed on the right side and broke off my foot peg. Also some fluid leaked out. Can I just take it in and get an oil change on it or could there be internal engine problems that I have to look for? |

Your motor should be fine. Where was it leaking from? Mine tipped over last summer. The tip over cracked my front brake lever and damaged my turn signal. |

It looks like it leaked out of the rear of the engine. Near the front pulley. It looked like it had some gas in it too. |

Could it be fuel from the fuel vent on the left side by the swing arm? I wouldn't expect to see oil leak out. The motor should be fine though unless it pushed the shifter through the primary cover or something like that. Any damage like that would be pretty obvious. |

Myself knowing very little about bikes, I would see if I could find someone to look at it. If not a "real" mechanic at least somebody that knows more than I do. But that's just me and my paranoid self... |

How do you know it was kicked over? Did you see them do it? Just wondering. |

"may have been oil from transmission breather." That was my second thought, but on my Ss the trans breather is routed up by the top shock mount. Not sure if it's the same on the Bolt. Trans oil would leave a pretty easy trail to follow between the breather tube and tensioner and would not explain the gas. Either way it should not be a problem. Fix the peg and ride it! |

You can see a big shoe print on the left side. It looks like they were messing with it and tried to roll it. Realized that the steering lock was on as well as a disc lock. They got bored or frustrated and kicked it over. I think the shoe was a chuck taylor. I don't exactly live in the nicest part of town. I figure I will take it down and get the oil changed and see what happens. Trans fluid makes sense. |

He's luck to have not caught them in the act. If he had he would still have the broken peg + a felony record. |

Sifo you are correct sir, if I would have caught them it would have been ugly. As it stands there is just enough damage to not be rideable but not enough to cover the deductible. |

Not sure why you see it necessary to change the oil... Fix whats damaged, maybe have it checked if your paranoid and ride it! Thats a pretty wild story! Although I have heard of a local guy in the SF area (homeless crazy guy) that likes to push bikes over. It was suggested that somebody kidnap him and drop him off in front of the Hells Angels HQ in Oakland . That would be the last set of Harleys he kicks over for a long time! |

I don't get stupid kids. Or drunk people. Or hoodlums. Whoever the HELL would kick over a bike!?!?!?! Sifo - he could have always just HELD them there until the cops showed! Citizens arrest and all! lol |

Not really a citizens arrest kinda guy. I love my bike, but I really don't want to go jail for beating some one to death with a part of their own body. |

Ah, what I wouldn't give for someone to come up with a stun gun style anti theft device. You touch it, you fry. If you can generate 100k volts from a 9v, what do you think you could squeeze out of a motorcycle battery? I want it to arc a foot or two.... ~SM (Message edited by Swordsman on May 18, 2009) |

"arc a foot or two" imagine forgetting it's "on" at a local bike night... the poor guys parked on either side (probably riding buddies) would sure have an eventful evening. |

"Sifo - he could have always just HELD them there until the cops showed! Citizens arrest and all! lol" Yes you could hold him for the cops, but you would still have to explain how you force fed him his own testicles and why he is wearing his scrotum as a beanie. |

I doubt there is anything seriously wrong with it. I've went down at about 20MPH. I was nervous for a little bit cause it wouldn't turn over. Once it fired up, I rode to the dealership, bought a new peg and order a shift assembly. Nothing wrong bike. I wouldn't sweat it... Someone kicked a buddy's bike over at Leesburg this year. A lot more chrome on those H/Ds than ours. He was pissed... |

I took it into the dealership last night and was complaining that there probably wasn't enough damage to cover the deductible. One of the service tech who I trust started pointing things out and said it will easily cover that. I noticed last night it bent the tensionner into the muffler, and the bar on that side is bent as well. |
