What sort of mileage are we getting on the Strada's vs the Sync's ? |

7k out of my rear Sync's ...switched to Strada's (which I love) hoping to get closer to 10k. Time will tell. |

Best I got out of a Strada was 1800 miles. I WON'T be buying another. Plus I hated the feel and profile. |

I'm at 4700 on the Stradas and looks like I may make 10k with them. Ft_bstrd, no build up here, Have been experiencing a Phluid Phart for 2 days. At least the vomiting is gone. I'll trade you. |

I just put a new Strada on my 08XT at 8500 miles. It was bald at the inner wear bars, but there were no cords showing |

My Strada's have very little noticeable wear at 5K...I'm thinking I'll get 11-12K out of them. I'll be replacing the Firebolt's Metzelers with them when they finally let go. The Blast needs a new rear, while I'm thinking about it... >.< ...it probably helps that I might tip the scales at 155 with all my gear on. |

Darthane, Have you compared it to a brand new one? The wear kinda sneaks up on you... |

5k on my strada rear, probably be lucky to get another 2k out of it. The only tire that will be on the rear of my uly. I got sick of getting 3k out of a normal sportbike tire. |

Shh! Leave me my delusions (for the record, I don't actually believe that they have experienced no wear in 5K, but there is a hefty amount of tread left)! Believe it or not, I got 7500mi out of one of the original D207 OEMs on the 2003 Firebolt...I don't think 10K+ is outside of reality on the Stradas for me, since most people seem to get decent mileage out of them. |

I love the Strada's, but they aren't nearly as much fun as running my Corsa III take offs. |

I am now running Pilot Road 2's time will tell. I like the tire alot. Had the Scorpions on and they worked well for the first 5K miles, but then I didn't like them much anymore. |

I got several thousand on my first set of stradas, they are doing well. My early estimate is I will get about 15-20k on the rear, and 20-25k on the front. |

About 4700 out of my Scorps and I don't ride particularly hard. I do however do a lot of highway miles and that seems to have taken its toll on the center treads. I have noticed many of you going to all out sport or sport touring tires. I have also been contemplating either a Strada or perhaps a Metzler Road Tech Z6 to replace my Syncs, but I do hit dirt roads frequently enough that I hesitate to go away from the Sync. Am I to infer that most of you just don't do any off pavement riding? Or do the sport touring tires do comparatively well on smooth dirt? I'll be ordering a new set if tires within a day or two, so if any of you have any insights on tire choice, I'd be curious to hear what you have to say. Cheers. A- |

I just replaced my Syncs with Stradas this year in the hopes that I get more miles. I was only getting about 4-5k on the rear with the Syncs and 6-7k on the front. I ride on dirt roads every time I take the bike out (I live on a dirt road) and the Stradas do fine. Personally, I'm happy with the way the Stradas handle as well. |

On my ScG, I managed 9k on the rear. I swapped out the rear for a new one and kept the front, 3,000 or so on the new rear so far without much noticable wear. The front will need replaced when the rear goes this time. |

I seriously need to figure out how you guys ride. My Strada made it to 7600 miles, no cords, but knowing the tread, I wasn't far off. I'm guessing the only reason they made it that far was winter combined with the fact, only 4000 of those miles were mine. Conti Road Attacks are coming off tonight (with any luck) at 4400 miles. |

Stradas are at 5K and still going strong. I will change them to Syncs before I go to Alaska. I really like the Stradas in twisties, and I have ridden a fair amount of dirt on them. I just want Syncs for riding dirt fully loaded. |

I just changed out a Mich Pilot Road at 12,200 mi on the rear. Best I have got on any tire. |

Well, it looks like I'll be trying out a set of Metzler Roadtech Z6's. The tire seems to be a proven platform for performance and longevity, so I figure it's worth a try. I'll report on it as the miles pile up. The tread pattern on it also seems to be almost identical to the Pirelli Strada's so it seems that Pirelli has benefited from its new parent, Metzler. I wonder how much real difference there is between those two tires. |

I have had both on the Uly. Strada Front = 11,000+ but had to pull them off. Strada Rear = 5300 average miles Sync Front = 9000 average miles Sync Rear = 4200 average miles I like the Syncs. Best profile of any tire I have had on the bike to date. Great dry pavement stick, fair wet weather stick. Biggest complaint is the tire wall is thin and very easy to puncture off road. I did not like the Stradas. The profile is too sharp with turn in being too fast for the quick handling Uly and once the tires began to wear, they followed every groove on the road. Dry weather stick was good but the only front tire to break loose on me in dry conditions. Wet grip was fair but they remind me of bias ply tires over painted lines. |

Good info. I'm still a bit torn. I too liked the way the syncs handled, but I have to replace the tires now and I'll be doing a 4000+ mile trip in about a month. I'd really like to come back with a little tire to spare and I really don't want to have to replace them in the road. I'll never get the prices at some dealer out there as I can get at my source here in CO. Still pondering, but I'll have to decide pretty soon. |

replaced the rear strada when i had a big silver inch wide stripe at a lil over 7000. replaced with the diablo T. the dealer did not have a strada in stock. I needed something now. they chipped my rim and scratched my rotor and kept my valve stem cap. I will be going back this weekend. (Message edited by fung on May 14, 2009) |

I must be a real wussy rider, getting 8-10k out of a rear sync. Current rear has 9300 miles on it. Has definitely lost some profile but not quite to the wear indicators. Rode the parkway/80 last weekend and still felt pretty good. |

Do you do anything more than ride to the shops and back for milk. I had almost 25% left on my rear when I took a 1000 mile road trip. After 1000 80mph highway miles the tire was gone. (Message edited by Hangetsu on May 15, 2009) |

I go 2500 miles on the rear tire. My strara had a rock poke a hole right in it. I have had my Ultra on the same road many times never had a problem. First time I take my Uly on a dirt road...a small rock takes me out... to funny ...My local Harley dealer took me right in this afternoon and got a new tire on the bike. I do enjoy riding the fire roads, and as a new uly owner I look forward to reading this web site and learning from the information that it holds |
