The trailer is 42 foot but with it hooked to the truck it's 60 feet. |

Anything in the way of lunch Friday at the factory? We will have a small group leaving the Chicago (west suburbs)area at 9a on the Friday bound for East Troy. All are welcome to join. |

Is the Sheraton in Brookfield, WI going to be the "center" of activity for the 2009 Buell Homecoming as it was for the 2008 event? Are they offering special rates? |

Well I was looking for a rally point and the best places I have are: Troy Amoco 1880 County Road L East Troy, WI 53120 or McD's 2526 Main St East Troy, WI 53120 Depending on who is going and what they want to do just gas and go or show up grab some greasy grub and gas. And blast out they are both clost to I43 so lets get a consensus. |

Since I do not know where either of these are located I will go with what the group decides. Having a bunch of Buells and Buellers ride to the HD museum is going to be epic! Frank |

Feinstei, I don't know about reduced rates, but there really is no "host hotel" this year. It seems like the Homecoming events are pretty scaled back compared to last year and everyone is on their own for planning accommodations. |

This is by far the worst activity I have seen for a Homecoming in my 10 years involvement on the BadWeb. I know there will be a turnout but to what degree is yet to be seen. Steve and his group were to do something but nothing has materialized as of yet. With three weeks till Homecoming even a grass roots event should have been planned some time ago. Hope it turns out ok. Last Grass Roots planned was the 20th in which I don't think it will ever be topped. I'll be there at the plant but after that I'm going straight to Road America. Nothing to keep me in the area. The rest is racing. Go Danny Eslick aka "Slick" |

Huh? Looks to me . . . like it's going to be a GREAT time. I've only been to 22 of these but I'm betting this will be one of the best. Court |

Concur, I am looking forward to it. It will not be as big as the 25th but the things I like the most will be there, the people. I am looking forward to camping with a few Buellers, meeting Court, the HD museum and the Factory tour and of course the ride from Colorado and back. I have a full plate of Buell activity already. |

Didn't say Court you wouldn't have a good time. Theres only 15 different people on this thread even talking about it here on the Badweb. Its not getting the attention it used to.... by far... way far. We'll have to see what Buell's Web site generates for people to come. I know others will be making the trip from this forum but how many will be have to be seen. |

Typically, since the years Badweb has existed, it's been a very poor predictor of Homecoming attendance. You may recall that the last couple times we prepared "expected attendance spreadsheets" that they represented less than 10% of the actual attendance. I suppose I am at a great advantage having attended many homecomings with less than a dozen folks . . . I'm unconvinced of the correlation between mere numbers and how good a time is had. I'm going and I'm going to have a great time. Perhaps we should have a thread for those who have a great time and another for folks who have a bad time. Can't happen. |

What I'm getting at Court is alot less over all plans. First year in my ten that either a host hotel either on Hd's part or the BadWeb. Also less dealer involvement. Meaning Hal's and Ukes. I do know Hal's will do something but this time its late in the game. The Badweb in past years has always mustered up enough involvement from forum member to get a dinner, hotel, etc together. This year nothing exists here. What that did is kept a portion of people together. I know a good time will be had. I just find it out of the ordinary that more talk from alot of the long time badweb folk including myself. Things seem to be changing. For the worst for the better??? |

Just so everyone knows Ukes is having there Open house that Saturday during homecoming. Last year Keith had Bubba Blackwell. I don't know if this year it is planned. None the less a great place to stop during that event. |

With the economy the way it is I can understand if Buell is doing less, at least they are doing something. I know I am new around here and all but I was stuck in Hawai'i for 4 years with the Corps, riding a HD because you can't find a Buell out there. The best part of going somewhere is the people you meet anyways. Hell, Iraq sucked big hairy ones but it was fun because of the people you go with. If something isn't fun it's because you make it that way. |

It will be a blast! Who needs plans, hang out with Buellers at the factory on Friday, watch Buells kick butt on the race track, ride on some real nice roads, hang out at Seibkens on Saturday night. Sounds like all the plans I need. |

OOoooh I'll be at Seibkens and probably the Osthoff's new Tikki bar that kicks Seibkens and the the Vic's Tikki's butts. I'll also watch the racing. But like I said no dealer stuff going on,no host hotel, and no banquet dinner in which these couple things make it special. IMHO |

I can't wait. I've been fighting a nasty infection I picked up from the second to last surgery I had, and I've got some work ahead of me to build up some more stamina before homecoming, because I WILL be riding my 'bolt there. The people are, by far and large, the event. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort and money that goes into planning the events and I enjoy them, but I'd go to homecoming just to hang out with other Buell riders in a parking lot. |

I don't think Buell is doing any less. I think last year they, just like we expected/asked for/wanted really blew the stops out. There was, back in 2006 even talk of cancelling 2007 altogether to save funds for last year. Eager owners asking when Homecoming was got us a 2007. Frankly . . . .although years ago we used to stay together in Lake Elkhart I can't recall a host hotel before the last couple years, but that could be my aging memory. I look at it this way . . . Buell is in East Troy. It's eay to find hotels anywhere in the area and if I can get my aging butt to the Buell plant anytime Friday before noon my prediction is that no matter what happens everyone there will have a fabulous time. If there is someone who is not coming I'd have a tough time buying it's because "no one told me where to stay" as an excuse. I still am under the gun to cater coffee to the camp ground some morning! How about we work a deal and anyone who show's, has a bad time and goes home unhappy can have Buell refund their registration fee? Me??? . . . I'm a partying kinda guy. |

SCU's??? I'm looking forward to the racing. The atmosphere should be different this year in the pits. I'm hoping my bike will be done before Homecoming. Will is painting a bit more on it as we speak. We have been doing a Custom SV 650 for a young lady that has been more then patient in getting this done. The bike has so many hours into it with late nights it to the point we don't know how many are into it anylonger. One thing for sure if it gets dropped it very very unrepairable. |

I just read this post twice and dont see a campground posted. Sorry Im blind but could someone let me know. Im trying to find on mapquest where it is in relation to my hotel. I just found out that Elkhart lake is 2 hours away from East Troy. Somehow I got the impression that it was close. |

Nobody asked or I would have said... sorry. Yeah the ride is going to be about 1 hour 45 minutes each way for you's. Me,I'm staying in Road America and parting where I don't need to worry about getting on a bike at night or my wife. |

"Also less dealer involvement." I got a sneaky feeling you won't be saying that about Hal's. Late yes, but the economy has held a lot of people, including the factory, in check. Skinner. I'm going to try to plan a ride to the Museum during the day thursday the 4th. HD has Thursday Bike Night at the Museum going on too. Where are you guys all camping? |

And thats what I said... Late. I knew Hal's would do something just late in the game. I hope they do have something. And yeah I know the Economy has played a roll. (Message edited by bads1 on May 14, 2009) |
