Dyna..Thanks for the posts. If it weren't for you and the other foreigners we wouldn't have many at all. Must be the Milwaukee Mute thing, eh? |

Prefer to think of them as "pinball wizards" |

Milwaukee Mute? Pinball Wizards? I think I should always finish the first cup of coffee before logging in here. Then my speedo is going out in the car so I had to listen to it howl and watch the needle do 360's until about 1 mile from work when it finally settled down. Hey, what would be the appropriate Mikuni flatside carb to use on either an M2 or S2? Hal's has some on sale. Can't quite swing the discounted price, so what would be a good price as well? They're moving out 42mm ones. Who's on first? |

Mike...I have a 42mm in one of my S3's. The thing makes the stock carb seem antiquanted. I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make in the "smaller" engine. The thing I noticed the most was the improved throttle response. Answer to you question....I don't know |

I have the 42 on my Dyna, havent tried it out yet. But have never heard 1 negative thing regarding them. Good price? I think I paid about $370 but that was the whole kit, breathers, air cleaner, etc. I think you should be able to get the carb somewhere on sale for $270-300 |

Dyna...How about Leisure Suit Larry and the Land of the Lounge Lizards? Was a fun interactive computer game a number of years ago and over the winter, I think I have observed the last of the "Larry's and Larriettes" in the local clubs. LMAO... Actually the reference to Milwaukee Mutes had to do with the low number of posts in the respective Storm Front and I was thanking you and the other "Foreigners" for contributing to our count. |

RULES ABOUT ARTWORK!!!!! Isn't that why it's called art? Who makes up these rules? Without BRAG members, there would be no BRAG. Shouldn't we have a say in what rules we are agreeing to, before they take our money? As you can tell, Rules and I go together like 1200cc pushrod motors and liquid cooling. |

Just remember It's not the quantity, it's the quality. That is what I keep telling my girlfriend... regaurding the number of posts. Ya well.. I to remember Leisure suit Larry. That was a funny game when it came out. I remember the part where he had to go into the quicky mart and buy condoms and the little dude behind the counter would announce what he was buying and everyone else in the store would yell "Pervert!" ah the good alod days. I personally haven't heard any negatives about the 42mm carb. But you gotta look at what it is going to give you. I being an avid horsepower junkie have chosen not to modify my engine. I mean unless you are going to drop some serious money ($3000+ or -) you are not going to make a significant change. I put a slip-on pipe for the sound and a forcewinder intake for the look. Other then that the more you add on and change, the less reliable your bike becomes. Personally I would rather play the percentages for making it home rather then shaving 1 second off my quarter mile time. |

The ease of changing jets is one thing I was looking at, slam-dunk with the Mik, hassle with the stocker. But then I don't change jets much. Gotta question so I'll pop over to the KV and ask. |

Leisure suit larry was cheezy as hell. My sister had it & I thought it sucked. Sure for its time it was "kick ass" but I still didnt like it. Mike, I never had an issue changing jets with the CV. I dont even have to pull the carb on my Dyna, just yank the bowl & change em. Hopefully never have to do that with the Mikuni anyways. Should be set it & forget it. |

Dyan . . ... jets little tougher to change on the tubers . . . . you CAN change things without removing the carb, but it's almost quicker (and a lot easier) the remove the carb |

Question...How does an X1 fare against a Duc 900 two valve? Have a friend that wants to do some head-to-head and I am looking for advance knowledge of his bikes strengths and weaknesses. Thanks, Bill |

Bill ping me at Dynawide1996@aol.com Also the X1 will do just fine against a 900 Duc. I have raced a few & they were not impressing me at all. |

Dyna...Thanks. I didn't think the 900 would be that tough. I know I can nail him in the tight stuff was just wondering what his strength would be in the straights. Obvious consideration for course selection. |

Best magazine time for a 900 supersport Duc is an 11.99 at 109. The mags usually had the X1's right around 11.5-11.7 Dave out in Iowa battled either a 916 or a 996 Duc at Road america last year. That was a pretty damn good thing they had going back & forth. The Duc finally edged out Daves X1 but thats also a full race rep bike not some lowly 900 supersport. |

Goodness Gracious...I can't wait for spring and clean roads. Need to do the deed before tar snake season though. This is going to be fun as it sounds like a relatively even match. |
