Guys. New here. Just picked up an 1125R last weekend. Hoping to get to my first oil change soon. I had to travel to get the bike and there is no Buell dealer conveniently close to me. Does anyone know if there is a 'common' oil filter available? Like from an auto-parts store that will fit this bike? Thanks! |

Online at American Sport Bike is an alternative. http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/18009.html |

I'd get a couple from the dealer you get the bike at. I only paid $15 each and they are rotax filters from HD. I bought 2 of them initially and one more the last time I was there. |

Or you could order from any of the sponsor dealers here as well. All of them will likely ship direct to you, and you can't beat the service from any of them, including American Sport Bike's. |

I have yet to find an off the Auto Store shelf filter. Since you don't have a local dealer try one of the many on-line dealers selling parts. LSHD1.com sells them a 20% off which makes them $11.93. Add in the shipping and it makes them really close to paying retail at the dealership. Just my .02$ |

okay. I'll try ordering one from one of these suggestions. If I'm successful in finding one in chain auto parts store I'll update. |

Guys, I believe it will not be long before EMGO, Parts Unlimited, K&N and others have a filter for us. They all have had one for the Aprilia's (Rotax V's) for a long time. Similar to ours but shorter. Should be easy for any of them to make a little longer one for us and they have run only between $4.00 and $7.00. |

The Can-Am Spyder 990cc engine may use the same oil filter as the 1125. I do not know for sure, but they look very similar and both engines were designed by BRP/ROTAX. The price is not any better, but the availability of after market parts support for the Spyder seems to be better than for The 1125. I do not know if this translates into a greater availability of maintenance parts for the Spyder or not, just a thought. I also saw a reference in an earlier post to KN filter #KN-556, which is a Bombardier oil filter that might fit the 1125. Again, I do not know for sure, but it was mentioned before as a possible option. Mike (Message edited by kttemplar on May 14, 2009) |

Why not buy a few mail order? I really wouldn't try a filter that 'might' be ok. Could get expensive. |
