Okay, to make a long story short, I've been on this forum, silently watching since the first day I bought my 08 1125r... Have had a few minor problems with my bike, Gas Light doesn't work, even after 09 IC install, still same as before, dealer has no idea how to fix it...( brought bike in for 2 weeks, just asked for it back. They didn't even touch it...) Multiple erroneous re-flashes... took dealer 2 days to learn how to reflash as my bike was the guinea pig. That bothered me, but that's life... I had my bike back for a week, stuttered like mad, bucking like a bronco, and yes i am aware of low speed surge, this was at 5thou or so rpms, my rear belt shred's teeth. had dealer replace belt. (they wouldn't warranty forced to buy a new one at 180 dollars) I get on my bike to leave, i get about 2 blocks, turn around to go back.... My rear Wheel bearings are shot!!!!! WTF!!!!! I can't seem to get a break, Mind you I love my 1125r I just want it back... I was told I have to wait atleast 2 weeks for my bearings to come in after a buell rep comes to look at it, which is 3 weeks from now.... a MINIMUM 5 Weeks til i get my bike back? What do i do here? |

Gas Light doesn't work, even after 09 IC install, still same as before, dealer has no idea how to fix it I’m assuming you mean the ‘Low Fuel’ light on the IC? Multiple erroneous re-flashes... took dealer 2 days to learn how to reflash as my bike was the guinea pig. Have them contact Buell Tech Support to work through their problems if they haven’t done so already. I had my bike back for a week, stuttered like mad, bucking like a bronco, and yes i am aware of low speed surge, this was at 5thou or so rpms, Any mods to the bike, or is it all stock? If no mods, could be a corrupted flash to the ECM. my rear belt shred's teeth. had dealer replace belt. (they wouldn't warranty forced to buy a new one at 180 dollars) I’d discuss this politely with the Service Manager, and if that didn’t work, then the GM. The belt is covered under the warranty unless you abused the heck out of it. I get on my bike to leave, i get about 2 blocks, turn around to go back.... My rear Wheel bearings are shot!!!!! Warranty again. I was told I have to wait atleast 2 weeks for my bearings to come in after a buell rep comes to look at it, which is 3 weeks from now 2 weeks to order bearings? Unless they are on backorder from the Vendor, there is no reason it should take 2 weeks to get wheel bearings unless the Dealership doesn't ORDER them. This would be the part where if I hadn’t talked to both the Service Manager & GM yet, I would. Since this is the sort of behavior that would drive me to another Dealership’s Service Dept. a MINIMUM 5 Weeks til i get my bike back? What do i do here? List your complaints and note possible ways you feel the Dealership could help to resolve them. POLITELY speak with the Service Manager about your list of issues. If you can’t come to mutually agreed upon resolution, take it to the GM. Again, be POLITE, but firm. If they value your business as a customer, I’m sure they can do something to make you happy. If not, time to look for another dealer. Just my opinion & YMMV. |

Clutch- which dealer do you go to? I know it would be a bit of a drive for you but you should think about taking your bike to Hals HD and Buell in New Berlin. I have some spare bearings that I could get to you so you wouldnt have to wait for the 5 weeks. I think the bearings are something like 15 a piece. I will be in the Crystal Lake area on Thursday or Friday and we could probably meet up if you want the bearings. |

5 weeks are unrealistic. Ask them to buy the bike back. |

By the way . . . lest I get my ass chewed again and in the spirit of honesty and openness I should let you know that I do not own an 1125R and it's been pointed out rather clearly that, as a result of that, I've no clue what I am doing. There . . . |

I feel your pain... +1. I am now entering my sixth week for what I have just learned was a reflash, new mirrors, and the brake line recall? Now I find out today that the voltage light is STILL coming on for them. I've made two payments on this thing, not to mention the insurance premium I've flushed, and not much else. I've got the license plate, but it's hard to ride that. :-P I'm still polite, but getting more and more firm . . . |

Just picked my bike up today, it was in the shop a total of SIX weeks and nothing was accomplished, zero, zip, zilch, nada. I took it in for a new speedo, took 4 weeks to get the replacement. They dicked with it for two weeks and determined the replacement was bad. In the mean time I told them about the brake recall, way back on 4/9 and they still have NOT gotten a replacement brake line in yet nor even bothered to reroute the original one. I also asked them to verify the flash and I could hear the tech tell the service taker-inner-dude, "Whatever". I've about had it. Court - I have no earthly idea what your connection is to Buell and why you can make shit happen but if you can scare up a good IC in less than three to four weeks I'd really appreciate it. I'm tired of missing rides, I tired of paying for track days (and loosing my entry fee) and missing them because of another break. I just want to ride. Pete |

Me neither. SEND me all your info, VIN, all contact info for you, your dealer and a write up of the situation and I'l kick that problem in the ass! You have to be aggressive and let problems know you are not afraid of them . . . . Grrrrrrr. Perhaps a karate chop or a flying kick to it's nasty little problem epicenter! |

As far as the (if it is the low fuel light) gas light goes, I had the same problem. My dealer said it was a sensor on the fuel pump and had to replace the fuel pump. Haven't had the problem ever since it got replaced. RB |

I know that this may not seem funny to most, may be even be offensive to some... Sorry Court... After reading this thread I had a vision of an old non-discript van sliding sideways around a corner and up to the back of the local Buell dealer. Court is in the back bouncing around in a captain's chair with a heroic stern look... The van is driven by a big, stout, shaved headed type with the oval Buell logo tatoo'd to his forehead and goes by the name of "Pegg"... Two umbrella girls in Geico skin-tights jump out and grab the store managers and throw them in the back of the van. As the van does a burn out of the lot the lecture begins... Uh, you guys can put your own words to the music. (I apologize for the thread napping to those who are in need of help) |

"yourE right..." <page> I think it's tasteful humor. And mebbe that's what we all need right now, is a dose of humor. There have been stories of customer service that sucked, but I also see stories of customer service that rocked too. Suck that's there's a bell curve, but there is. GL with the fixes, I'm in the same boat. |

Your right it's not too funny at least to me. It's one of my fears of the 1125. As a Buell owner that has had to make the time to return to the dealer for the same issue over and over (oil leak) I think Buell service department quality is a serious issue that needs serious attention. More than one guy one the internet that knows who to call. The 1125 series has exaggerated the problem with new technologies between Harley and Buell techs.. I may be at one end of the spectrum, I know I'm the guy that goes nuts when he does not have a Bike to ride or needs to spend time at the dealer for others oversights. I take a owners 5 week bike absence very serious. The fact that its covered under warranty is not a point of celebration, a fixed bike is. |

Brap, what u need to realize is any bike made by anyone can have issues. It happens when imperfect beings make mechanical things. Look at how many 25r owners are here and how many of us have had no issues, myself included. I'm certain that if I did have an issue, I could get it taken care of, either thru my new main dealership (western reserve), where I bought my bike (biketown). If these were to fail me, Buell cs or other resources such as Court would be checked into. I truely see it as a good thing that we Buellers have resources such as Court and others if needed. Ya think there's a Court on the Honda message boards that has relationships with the top dogs at Honda? Doubt it. |

And I completely agree with you Brap. My dealer is 100 miles away and my 1125 has had most of the known ailments posted on Badweb. Few of the trips up were same day and I didn't have a truck. So I rode the bike up and had a friend drive my car up. Then back in the car, then up again and then both back home again. A lot of miles and favors. When I had 3000 miles on the bike I counted my trips and realized 2000 of them were riding to and from the dealer for warranty work, recalls, re-flashes and service. Add the 2800 put on my car going to and from the dealer at that time. It didn't get better then, I just quit counting. Think I wasn't fed up with it? When my third rear turn signal died I skipped the run entirely as I realized it was cheaper to just have them ship two new (white stripe) ones to me and pay for it all myself and be done with it. But my dealer has always been pro Buell and the techs have gotten better over time. So has the bike. I knew I was gambling when I bought such a complex first year bike from Buell and lost a lot of time and money getting it straight. But I gained a great bike. I'd do it again. As to BMC and it's customers fixing Harley's service departments it's a bit like the tail wagging the dog. We're barely big enough to put a dent in that problem yet. But that's changing too. It is being taken serious. But it's a VERY big job. At least we have far more access to Buell because of Harley. Patience and persistence is what is needed for now. Good update, and partially resolved... I received a phone call today from the service manager from my local dealer stating they are going to have the rear bearings overnighted from a secondary supplier, and they are ordering an 09 fuel pump, they found my fuel pump was only putting out 62psi fuel instead of the 100psi as spec'd. the tech's and I are both hoping this will take care of the low fuel lamp aswell. as for the belt being under warranty they claim they need to send pictures to a buell rep, and they may or may not return my money... Hopefully the fuel pump won't take forever... things are looking up... just in time for crappy weather... |

Great post Glenn. I feel much the same. Loretta just passed 18k miles on the way home from work, yesterday. I love this bike. Z BTW - I like the reference to the A Team - Court's "on the jazz". (Message edited by zac4mac on May 13, 2009) |

The "sucked" stories are pretty well outdated and the "rocked" stories have become fairly common at Buell. I just rolled over a thousand miles on my new '08 R, I'm hoping not to have the issues like you guys. For such a sweet bike, it sucks that you're having such problems. Though my turn signals didn't work at first, they overnighted new ones, and had the brake line recall done in 2 days. Keep crossing my fingers that I won't have any major issues. Love the bike!!!! |

Good to see some positive news. Curious to see what difference a few days will make. I've seen some of Court's helping first hand. In fact I know he's "helped" at times without being asked too. Zack, wow I forgot about the A-team! Showing our age here. I was actually thinking of the last "Priceline Negotiator" commercial I saw with Shatner and "No Fee". Which is why I apologized up front. |
