I have noticed my bike acting funny lately. under about 6k its the most noticeable. It feels underpowered like its possibly bogging out or something. when the bike is idling, i can sometimes chuck a quick rev then it will stall. in the lower rpm's the bike doesn't feel smooth and it seems like possibly something that has gotten worse with the warmer weather (maybe not though). I check the solenoid to see if the mod was done. It has the cable disconnected, but it is still there and plugged in. Another thing i wish to note is that i got the bike with a short supper trapp on it. I since then, installed a longer one (8" to 14.5") and use more disk then before (think there were 7 and no using 10). The bike was dyno tuned to the other exhaust. Would this cause what i am noticing? do i need to have it dyno tuned? finally, while trying to find other info on any problems i cam across one person saying their dealer replaced the injectors ?!?!? is there anything known about this? I have not brought the bike to a dealer (yet). I was interested in what the knowledgeable form members knew first. Thank you for any info/help, Nivek (Message edited by nivek on May 11, 2009) |

IS THE FLAP WIRED SO IT CANT WORK INDEPENDENT...DISCONECT AND REMOVE THE SOLINIOD AND REPLACE IT WITH THE RESISTER CAP...AMERICAN SPORT BIKE SELLS THEM..10 BUCKS I THINK DO A SEARCH FOR SOLINIOD REMOVALE..VERY DETAILED...VERY EASY...TAKE YOUR TIME, YES YOU CAN DO IT ALSO..JARDINE MAKES A GOOD STREET PIPE..I'LL LET YOU KNOW ABOUT THE TRACK PIPE IN A WEEK OR 2 JT (Message edited by JERSEY_THUNDER on May 11, 2009) |

Jersery, my butterflies work together just fine; they're connected . . the solenoid connections were disconnected but the solenoid body was left in place and its electrical wires are still hooked up. would disconnecting them and plugging the replacement resistor cap in make a difference? Thanks, Nivek |

your butterflies are wired so that they work together...good...well removing the soliniod and using the resister with save you some weight..but thats probly not the issue..put the stock exhaust on..put some miles on it.. see what happens..don't start getting caught up in allllll the crazy stuff you read on here..there are some great people on here and some that...lets say spend more time on the lap top then on the bike...do you have the stock exhaust? do you know what map is on there?..take a asprin before you have brain surgery...i found that the less you finger f!!! the bike the less problems you'll have.. feel free to call..if i don't know i know people that will 1-845-258-6700 tony ps...i would remove the solinoid and get the resister.. you need a good tune for the new exhaust or just put the stock exhaust back on and call it a day |

Thanks, I dont have the stock exhaust. I got the bike with a 8 in supertrapp with about 7 disk installed. Since then i installed a 14 in suppertrapp and i am running 10 disk. I will look into the resister. I was told that the bike was dyno tuned or such by johnson engineering in rhode island. p.s. the bikes previous owner is bagger mike and i have talked to him about when he had the bike. -Nivek |

The resistor costs $7, and it's worth getting, but it's NOT relevant to the problem you're describing. The resistor's sole purpose is to make the computer think the noid's still there, without having to carry the 2 lbs. or so. |

.s. the bikes previous owner is bagger mike and i have talked to him about when he had the bike. As I remember, Mike has lots of problems....but it seemed the were mostly electrical and of his own doing.... |

And Mike was just too intent on changing everything he could before taking the time to even solve what his first problem was. Mike did a lot of posting so searching back through his old posts will likely tell you all you need to know about his changes. I remember him putting on the Super Trap, and if I remember right he jumped to it after running some other after market pipe for a short time. And I think he was (going to/or did) rewire the alternator for more output too. I don't remember if he changed injectors though. |

thanks much, but i guess first thing is first. I have a supertrapp with adjustable rings at the end. i can add or subtract rings to lower or add back pressure which in turn should richen or lean out the engine. So, i will have to take some rings off to try to richen it up and see if that solves my problem. |
