Buells hold MANY (at one time nearly half the "150 Club" was Buells) World Land Speed Records including the ones Roger Roeszler and Buell Brothers, the Team Elves (which I think is more than a dozen and still a record for the number of records broken in a day), Paul Rogers, Ross Northwood and Charles Cheesman in Australian and our own Fireman Jim Higgins who recently rocketed into the 200MPH Club. Wes Orloff, who will be at the Thunder and Lightning Event has been involved with a group of Buell and HD employees and some other folks in Milwaukee who have taken an XB to the Salt. Wes would be a great guy to pick pointers up from. In addition to being about the nicest guy you'll ever meet he is seriously fast. It'll be a GREAT time! |

By the way . . . the fastest Buell records, at this time, are just shy of 220MPH. Seriously fast. |

Last year, I rode Loretta from Colorado to Homecoming in Wisconsin. I have never been made more at home by anyone. Don't worry, enjoy meeting new/old friends. Z |

Jim, I missed the event, but I'm heading out for a cross country trip May 18th. Probably be coming through Ohio the 20th or 21st. I'm going to try to swing by Western Reserve just to say hello and check out the cool stuff you guys are doing with the Buells. |

Guys, what kind of stuff did you enjoy about that event? I am trying to put on a sport bike day at our dealership and would really appreciate any pointers or input that you could offer! |

I personally enjoyed it all. The top three for me, in no particular order: - the racing / LSR presentation Wes put on - the dyno runs - talking with everyone |

what kind of topics were covered in the racing presentation? |

The racing presentation was Wes Orloff's (sp?) history of his involvement in land speed record attempts. He covered the records they went after, the results, some of the technologies they employed to get the performance they achieved, and how many of those technologies ended up being incorporated in the XB line. Pretty interesting guy with LOTS of cool stuff to talk about! |
