Hi all, I'm new to the forum and I am buying a 08 1125 this week. The dealer says all updates have been done, but is there a way to verify this so I'm not just taking his word. Also the price is $8,995 plus tax and lic. and I'm trying to get the first service thrown in. Is this about what these bikes are going for? The bike is new. Thanks, Mike |

He can give you a print out of the SWR on the bike showing all recalls as complete. Also the dealer can give you a print out from the Digital tech that shows the reflash information. The most current flash for the 08 is calibration ID: M3HUS04z and Part Number:Y0152.1AM |

H-D/Buell maintains a record of every bike's update history by VIN. You could simply ask for this record at any dealer's service department--- they will list all updates that have been performed... |

Junky - true H-Dnet shows 04Z for 08, and 11Z for 09. However, anecdotally, 05Z and 12Z have been seen. Z |

Zac: That was a typo, thanks for picking it up. Should have been 05z |

Part number was correct for 05z |

Nate - that p/n for the blank ECM has been the same since initial release. Same number in my 08R parts book, one of the first printed... in fact, that p/n is "pending obsolete" now. The flash doesn't have a p/n AFAIK. BTW - Welcome to BadWeB, Mike. Hope you enjoy your 1125, I love mine. Z |

Z speculation here, but do you think this pending obsolete is because the replacement ecm will be programmed with the finalized calibration or because there may be a recall coming for it??? |

Dunno, all I know is the ECM in all the 1125s so far is the same part. Maybe the soon-to-be 2010s will have a new ECM. If so, it will most likely be more advanced. Maybe just a different vendor or packaging, HD obsoletes parts for a variety of reasons. Retrofit? No idea. The IC was updated at least once and it does retrofit. Like a stock forecast, past performance does not guarantee future performance. Z |
