hey fellow buellers, first time on HTC forum here on bad web. was converted to buell with the 1125R, traded a gixxer 600 for it about 3 weeks ago and could NOT be happier! Much more comfortable on long rides and the torque, HOLY COW! Don't have to wait til 13,000 rpm for it to kick in, awsome bike! I bought it at Bloomington Harley Davidson/Buell, I think I met STV there but not for sure who you are exactly, looking forward to some riding, if you guys plan any rides please let me know, I'm game! |

You may have me confused with Buelldealer, or IndyBueller. I wasn't able to make it to Barber, wish I would have! But I will pass on the thanks to the folks at the dealer. |

I was signed up for the 10:30, but was distracted at the parts counter getting some stuff from my blast, and listening to Ian's latest story. Talk about a kid with bad luck. I was wanting to ride an 12ss or an 9sx, neither were available. I had to be home by noon, so I had to take off around 11. Which ones did you take for a spin? |

The 2009 Mid-America Motorcycle Speedway season kicks off this Saturday, May 16th. Practice will begin at 5:00pm, and racing will begin promptly at 7:00pm. Grandstand admission is still $10 for adults. $5 for kids aged 7-15, and aged 6 and under free. We are also offering a family pass to the grandstands which allows two adults and an unlimited number of children into the grandstands for $25. We run a wide variety of classes including everything from youth riders on 50cc motorcycles, pro riders on 450cc purpose built flat trackers, to methanol burning speedway motorcycles with no brakes. A speedway motorcycle is unlike any other motorcycle that you have ever seen. The motors are 500cc methanol burning four strokes. The bikes weigh in at about 170 pounds and put out somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 horsepower. With the light weight, and high horsepower, a speedway bike is capable of going from 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds. The bikes are remarkably simple in that they have no transmission, very little front suspension, no rear suspension, no starting mechanism, and no brakes. That's right, no brakes! The rider enters the turn full throttle, throws the machine sideways to get the motorcycle turned, and aims for the next turn. The top riders at Mid-America will throw the machine sideways at just under 80 mph as they enter the first and third turns. A speedway "meeting" consists of four heats, and a main event. Each rider will ride in four heats, starting each one from a different spot or "gate" on the starting line. The four riders with the most points after four heats go on to the main event. All heats, and mains are four laps, and the fast guys can run their four laps in less than 50 seconds. A rider cannot touch the tapes before the start. If he does, he goes back to the penalty line. If he breaks the tapes, he gets to watch from the sidelines. If two or more riders go down on the first lap, the race is re-started with the rider causing the re-start going to the penalty line. Should a downed rider be unable to start his machine after two-minutes, he is excluded from the re-start, and headed for the pits. *Please note that there is a car show going on at the fairgrounds this weekend. Admission to the car show is $5, but as long as you let the people at the main gate know that you are there for the motorcycle races, you will not be charged. |

FORGIVE ME FATHER, FOR I HAVE SINNED !!! can an escorted 12 minute urban test loop possibly be any fun??? YES IT CAN !!!! yesterday i got to test ride several ducatis: 1100 monster streetfighter s hypermotard 848 1198 every bike was distinctively different. all induced adrenaline and giggles. i am not a big wheelie guy, but i do love a good throttle roll-on wheel loft. hehehehehehehehehe!!!! my bike runs out a 7000rpm things start to get fun at about 6000rpm on the mega-horsepower bikes. it really was fun i'm not gonna sell the buells and get a duc, but i'm just sayin'................. |
