Got the brake recall done today dealer told me there is a flash that I don't have. It is M3PUS12Z does anyone have any info on what this changes? My numbers are F/100 R/105. Its on a 08. I thought this was a topic in the past but could not find. Pros or cons? Thanks, Scott |

Ive got the newest flash, and it runs a lot smoother down low. In fact, I find myself running a gear higher than I did before around town. Wheelies dont seem quite as effortless, though it could be in my head. |

If you have an 08, the most recent flash is M3HUS05Z. For 09s, the current one is M3HUS12Z. They are NOT interchangeable without changing injectors. Z |

How much are the injectors? |

Thanks Zac I will check with the dealer to see what number is on mine now. Wasn't there one that changed the charging rpm so you don't have to play the battery tender game? It was after the one that fixed the heat and low rpm stumble problem? I have read so much in the past year its getting confusing... Thanks, Scott |

I'm not sure what all has happened with the flashes. The big "rideability" flash was back in September. That was M3HUS03Z, I think, I got it with the 09 IC. I had her in a month or so ago and was told they loaded M3HUS05Z, which I had never heard of. Seems I have the current BMC flash for my year. H-D is still showing one rev lower for both years with 4 and 11 vs. 5 and 12. As far as 08/09 diffs, I believe there is more different than just the injectors. That's just the biggest chunk, I think. Michael(Chevycummins) swapped them and had more trouble. IIRC, he went back to OEM. Z |

I'll check maybe I have the latest. I am sure I only got the rideability/heat control flash. The guys at the dealer I go to are nice enough but are not watching every move Buell makes so this site is very helpful!! I will get back to you. Thanks for your help. Oh, I did move the O2 senors to the 09 location and ceramic coated the front and rear pipe. Not rode it enough to see if there are any big changes to the numbers. Started with front/100 rear/100. Now with 25 miles the only change is to the rear, it went to 105. Stock pipe. Scott |

Z, I have the 03Z, so the dealer has not loaded the 05Z on any bikes yet and it was not in there system. I'll get it done on Sat. Thanks for your help!! Any others have the 05Z flash that don't like it? Scott |

The latest flash for the 08 25R is M3HUS05z the part number is Y0152.1AM It changes fueling and spark map below 4000 RPM for a smoother running motor at low RPM. I have had it on my bike for about 2 weeks now. It really improved the rideablitly in heavy traffic at less than 35MPH. No change above the 4000 rpm as far as how the bike pulls. everything seems the same there. |

I got the latest flash a week ago and I don't know if is just my imagination but it feel that pulls stronger. Plus it is noticeable the smoothness under 4k rpms. |

I've asked "how to tell if the flash got applied" before, and was told "only your dealer can tell you". I'd long suspected, after others here reported cooler running and smoother throttle, along with better gas mileage, that my flash was never done correctly. Today, I confirmed that. I bought a 2nd 1125r (08), and while it warms up it reads "COLD" where as the old software would show the warm up temp. So, look for that. And, now I know my first bike was never updated correctly... |

The early ICs showed the temp as they warmed up. Loretta is #154. Mine was still showing temp as it warmed up after the Sept flash for rideability - 03Z. I lost that when I got the 09 IC a week or two later, but gained the gear indicator. Only device I've seen the flash number on is a DT-II at the dealer. Z |

I have an 08 with I believe an 08 IC. I don't have a gear indicator, but do have the flashing "cold" instead of temp below 150F. |

Only EARLY 08s had the temp flashing. After Jan or Feb of 08, they flashed "cold". |

I am totally confused. I thought the last flash for the 08s was back in September. Ya know the "miracle update" that really fixed a ton of issues. I guess there's another? If that is the case I only have the last one from September. |

> Only EARLY 08s had the temp flashing. > After Jan or Feb of 08, they flashed "cold So, you are saying that's a funciton of the hardware, not what version of the software (flash) is installed? |

There's one more for the 08's, I also got the one in Sept., but this one ,I think, addresses power management ( battery usage) and low end fuell metering... |

Ya I had gotten another one this spring. It stopped the 4200ish rpm flutter. I don't have to charge it as often and it doesn't have that 3rd gear cut-off like it used to. |

I think I got the 05Z flash this past month. I say I think because I looked at the paperwork quickly and now don't remember what exactly it was. Doesn't matter, it rides great. I got so used to the bucking below 4K that I almost didn't get the flash. Glad I did since it's much smoother now. Don't know yet about the gas mileage since I ride her hard like the sexy tramp she is. |

I just got the latest '08 flash on Saturday (thanks to Western Reserve HD for the great event!), and it is definitely 05Z. The ~120 miles home were pretty easy and steady because of the rain, and I averaged 41 MPG. |

Well I got the 05Z flash Saturday. Couple things I noticed it pulls the same on the top end, it really does help the low speed driveabilty. But the best thing is after I rode our loop and put the battery tender on it was charged within 30 min. Pre 05Z it would charge 5+ hours. The loop is 325 miles, you wold think that would charge the bike. Well I like the changes. Mine is an 08 it also flashes the cold when it is warming up. Mileage was 31 ave. Scott |
