Anybody ever done halos around the headlights on a Bolt? I was looking at this site, http://www.geocities.com/jvxdriver/eagle_eyes.htm and thinking something could be done for our lights. How it would look in the end I'm not sure, but it would be a fun project. |

I'd think your Firebolt would be allergic to "rice". |

Uhh but you wouldnt be able to see them while the lights were on, i guess it would be cool in a parking lot or something. But what would be the other point in them? |

I don't even have halo's on my bimmer and I certainly don't feel I need them on my Buell. |

Might look kinda cool...I sure don't have the patience to do that though lol. |

I don't even have halo's on my bimmer and I certainly don't feel I need them on my Buell. But do you have 28" chrome rims on it? I wouldn't think you'd get the affect your looking for. The housings on our bikes are much smaller than most jap bikes. You could do as 03fire is suggesting. Pop a little led into the housing. That would look decent... |

I don't think you could put halos on an XBR. The projector lens are not under a cover. Every halo implementation I have ever seen is = outer cover < halo ring < projector lens < light bulb < reflector. |

Here is my crappy attempt to make some. Did not like the end results so I removed them.

Does this make your bike faster? |

Thank you jasnow, for actually answering the question. Its a bike, its meant to be customized, I think it would look cool. I've never seen halos on an exposed lamp such as the Bolts. It would just be one more thing to set it apart from the rest, properly implemented of course. Rice in my mind would be doing the same shit as everyone else, that has no significant effect on performance, OMFG drummmer WAFFLES, or OMFG A lightning bolt, or OMFG etc. So what if I like a lil Uncle Bens, haters, LOL. |

I want to do the Audi lights but I can't figure out how to implement it into the Buell. Something like...

I'd spend the money on fuel and oil filters. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll297/marklaw_a lbum/UncleBensRice1.jpg |

Ramm thats pretty sweet too, would look good outlining the bezels up front. Hobby shops have little wire lights, in all sorts of colors, but keeping the clean look may be tricky. Ourdee, NASTY.... Plenty of oil and filters on hand, recently single, need a project if that explains anything, lol. (Message edited by SRWitt on May 07, 2009) |

Ive been thinking about trying something like the Audi lights below the bezel and having them work with the turn signals. Just havent found the time since the weather has gotten warmer. |

I could see them on a Lightning but not a Firebolt although the LED idea on the 'bolt would be cool. |

I answered the question. I said basically the same thing Josnow said, I just didn't have the pics... |

Sorry bolt32, I saw some of the others and just kinda did the face palm thing then replied. I like the effect Josnow's has, and thats all this is about, just looking for peoples experiences. Wanting to build something in my much more "spare" time, well when I can't ride anyways cause of lightning thunder wind rain n hail. |

Its cool. I got what your saying. If you can pull it off I think it would look good...different. |

if they were fairly bright and you used them as running lights instead of the single lamp, it would be a different look, and not take away from the utilitarian vibe I feel about our bikes. I would love to do something like that myself, but I take 3 months to get around to much-needed tire changes, let alone farkles. perhaps you could find a thin, but powerful + water proof LED strip at a home improvement store? I couldn't see that working too well for the "angel eye"/BMW setup, but I would think it a simple enough project to simulate audi's look. please keep this updated, I'd love to see if/how it turns out. |

In California those would be illegal. You can't have any blue or red lights facing the front. I don't think you can have any blue lights on while on the road. |

XBR I think the better question is, what is legal in CA, probably be easier to answer. I know about the blue and red lighting, its illegal in ID too, as well as just about all 49 other states. I don't plan on colors, just something clear. |

There's a fine line between blue and really really white. |

as well as just about all 49 other states. Only if strobing while driving. Even then BIKES usually don't get messed with. Cars will... You can strobe them while parked on anything with no reprocussions. |

The scoop does look pretty cool. I was thinking more just an accent light in there though. |
