I have an 1125R '08 with about 15k on it. I've replaced the front tire once and the back tire twice.
Front tire: Lasted almost 15K. I currently have Bridgestone BT 016 on the front.
Back tire: Stock tire (Pirelli® Diablo® Corsa III) wore out at about 8k. I bought another another Corsa III and it last about the same. I switched it out a little earlier than I probably had to, but I wanted the front and back tires replaced at the same time. I've switched to Bridgestone BT 016 just a few weeks ago in hopes that they would last a bit longer.
The rear tire on the Bridgestones is a triple compound, so we'll see. In comparison to other riders on here it appears that I've gotten quite a bit of mileage out of my back tire and probably my front. I mostly commute every day on my bike, nothing to hard on the tires. |

The BT-016 doesn't seem to have a harder middle portion than comparable high-performance single compound tire. The advantage is the ability to soften up the outside rubber with the extra compounds.
Taking track days out of the equation, it's strange the consistency of the millege I have gotten out of every rear tire on either the XB or 1125r. It's been aroung 4,000 miles on the rear no matter which bike--Scorpion Syncs, Metzler M1s & M3s, Corsa IIIs & the BT-016s. I just find that's odd. |

I have 10,500 miles on my original Corsa IIIs. Front is shot - rear looks great.
I ran Dunlaps on my XB12R - and typically only got about 3000 miles on a set. The Corsa IIIs have been the best wearing sport tire I have had. |

Well - this is a bike that loves the corners. But I do my share of super slab riding too.
I can't explain it either. I am DEFINATELY going to try them again. |

10,500 out of Corsa III is an outlier in the most dramatic sense of the word. That's absolutely a world record and some kind of amazing feat, really. I don't even understand how it's possible!
I assure you, to get that kind of mileage, Bigdog is very, very, very smooth, does no hard acceleration, does no hard braking, does no hard cornering, does not ride fast, mostly rides straight roads, has very smooth asphalt pavement to ride on, probably rides in the rain a lot so the tires don't get hot, uses the max 42 PSI in the tires, etc.
2,500 - 3,000 out of a Corsa III rear should be considered "very good". I can only get that if I only ride slab.
In the mountains like Arkansas, man, the Corsa III is the MOST AMAZING tire, but two and a half days of riding there and I've shagged a set! So, we are talking about 1100 - 1500 miles tops.
I run the Corsa III on the track, too, and I really like them. Probably get 5 track days out of a set, depending on the track. That's what... 800-1000 miles? I'm not that fast of a rider compared to the other guys there, and I wear them out on the shoulder first, leaving plenty of tread in the center and some at the very edge of the tire.
On the street, I always wear the center out long, long, long before anything else.
I've run the regular Diablo for a long time on my 1125r, but I've moved back to the Corsa III because I like how sticky they are on the track and the confidence they inspire. It's purely a "lack of skills" problem in my own riding, but man, what a difference the confidence and feel of the Corsa III makes in how I ride. |

I got 6k out of the first Corsa-III, 7k from the second and am 4500 into the third.
It's squared, but still plenty of tread.
Changed the front at 14994.
I like the OEM Pirellis - good choice BMC.

I really can't explain the insane tire mileage I am getting. I am a big guy (250 lbs). I don't ride two up - but do a fair bit of sport touring on the bike (use the Buell soft luggage). I live in Seattle - so cold/wet roads are the norm.
While I wouldn't charactorize my riding style as a squid, I do fully enjoy the performance charactoristics of this bike.
All I can say is that I hope the replacement rubber gives me similar wear performance. I seriosly doubt that it will - but I can certainly hope. |

Not to throw this off topic, but for the OEM tires. When should I order a new set? I understand the tread wear indicators and all, but from this topic I gather a few individuals have a tried to "go the extra mile" on their OEMs and I am wondering when it seriously no longer safe for the center section. Any tips? Thanks! |

LOL kinda figured that. I guess I can use the ole 1/8th inch from center most water groove routine. Or when the water grooves disappear in the center. Sad part is, I need to grind off some sidewall to even them up, and I can't find a "safe" place to do it here, and the nearest track is Gateway in IL.  |

Man, you guys go through tires FAST.
My Corsas on my XB (same compound as the center of a Corsa III) lasted over 7,000 for me, very little squaring and likely had another 1-2kmi left on them when they came off.
I replcaed them Conti Road Attacks based on the reccomondations of others. The tires were okay, but began to crack in the tread grooves within a couple months.
I really like the Corsa IIIs on my 1125. I don't have many miles on them, but they feel good, are wearing very well, and never left wanting more grip. Chances are, I'll be replacing using the same tires when the time comes. Though I am looking into the 2CTs and BT-016s. |

im bumpin this thread again because im in need of a new rear tire. just over 2000 miles on it. im not easy on her though. couple small burn outs and such lol.
im lookin at the bridgestone battlax bt 016. they seem cheap and really good.
does any one have any different ideas. im poor lol so cheap is a very good thing. but i want great grip and good wear. at a fair price. |

Anybody compare the stock Diablo Corsa III with the Diablo Supersport.
Reason I'm asking is cyclegear has the super sport set (front/back) for $200.00 + 10.00 shipping, about $150.00 more for the Corsa III's.
