I pick it up tomorrow but here are a couple pics of her. She is pretty bad off and unfortunately doesnt come with a title but it will strictly be a race bike for me. The frame is munched as well as the engine exhaust, front wheel, and swing arm so I dont have a lot to work with but thats the way it goes. lol anyone have any spare parts they want to part with??????

Is this a joke? I hate to be a downer, but that bike is a mess. You will be upside down trying to replace everything. |

OUCH!! Hope you got a great deal...That is gonna cost a pretty penny to get repaired, even if you skip the pure cosmetic items. If you would, please post parts list and total cost when you get farther into it. |

When you realize it's too much hassle, I'll buy it for parts. 2008 Buells are going for 9k OTD. If 3 weeks your labor time is worth more than 2000, you'll be better off buying a new one. |

"Perfect race bike enjoy!!!!!" Other than the huge hole in the case, I would agree. |

Chrisrogers3, if you find that the forks are damaged I can probably get you my old ones from my bike. They had a clunk noise and only had 3,500 miles on them. They are at my dealer under a bench in a box. I might be able to work out a deal with my dealer. |

"Is this a joke? I hate to be a downer, but that bike is a mess. You will be upside down trying to replace everything." "When you realize it's too much hassle, I'll buy it for parts." This isn't my first rodeo cowboy. I am no stranger to building bikes and fully know what I am up against. So please realize some peoples mechanical aptitude exceeds that of the lego set you are still trying to fit together. In all actuality the bike is not as bad as it looks. I already have an engine and swingarm lined up and I can get a frame cheap enough. In the end I will have less than 5 grand into it. Which indeed makes this a perfect race bike. |

I don't see anything a little JB Weld couldn't handle. Good luck with the build - keep us posted on the progress. |

Clarkjw- I have owned/restored/sold now 34 vehicles (about half have been bikes) in the last 10 years. Never once have I figured in labor time (its a hobby-not a job). As far as the JB weld-I cracked the primary cover on my Uly about 8000 miles ago and she is still going strong with JB weld! |

Chris - I didn't mean to take a dig at you. That was more of a reaction post. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a lego castle to get back to. |

Boltrider- Im not easily offended and that is typically the reaction I get when I post something as screwed up as the bike currently is....So now if you'll excuse me I have an 1125 to go build |

Wow!! you have a lot more free time than I do. I wish I could fix up a bike that was in the condition of this one. I hope it all works out great for you. Very impressive, when it does work out, at least in my opinion. Mike |

Kttemplar- These are the advantages of being a full time student and having the Army and VA pay for it all and then some. Its a wonderful thing. |

Chrisrogers3, I understand how you feel. I will be taking advantage of the VA and so forth very soon. I am retiring from the Navy at the end of August. I will be going on terminal leave the last day of May and starting my next job on June 1st. The bright side is that I will still be getting my Navy pay from June to August, which will make the transition much easier. Mike |
