whata' ya mean Duane? Who will be chewin' on ya and why? Everyone deserves to buy a new bike- or at least that is what Mike has led me to believe for the last 13 yrs and over 15 bikes later.... well that is over 1 a yr or in some cases multiples in the same yr with a little dry spell in between. Multiples are good at least Mike would say they are! Me I'm just along for the ride! If it is your wife, heck get her addicted and she'll want her own. Ride on- Sweet Pea! |

Mike and I have waxed poetic about our woes with a local motorcycle shop. So, with service due on my ST (and the grips needing installation), I went over to Cascade Moto Classics in Beaverton today and dropped off the bike. "We'll have it done tomorrow," they said. Well I'm in no rush but that's cool with me. Get a call later in the afternoon: "A bit of a snag. They're the wrong grips for your ST. (Mind you, these were a Christmas present from the folks, so they weren't armed with vin #). They changed them mid-year. I don't have the right ones in stock, but I'll order the correct ones and take yours in trade. They work with the 02's. I already have the bodywork off your bike so since you don't want your bike back right away, I'll park it in the corner of the shop and give you a call when the grips are installed. Sorry for the hassle." Sorry for the hassle? I was the one with the wrong part! It's me who should be sorry. "Uh, okay. Sounds good to me. Just let me know when it's done," I say. A nice change of pace when it comes to service. |

Duane, you can never have TOO many motorcycles--its kinda like having too much sex or money--can't happen.Might need more room or a bigger garage, but can't be too many bikes. |

Heat activated fan – nice to know when you should back off due to temperature, higher revving, nice hole in the frame to route plumbing, etc. could make a nice turbo bike! I think the records are open for it at Bonneville too. I met an engineer for HKS too; he does EFI work. I went to a turbo shop too, and I found some turbos that would work well. Oh how the mind spends the money. However, I have other plans for the Firebolt – which include riding it around a whole lot. I still have an S2 in the garage and almost ready to race, you know. |

Bob, The bike ran great on the way home. I could't figure out why my hands and legs were so stiff? Must be because I haven't rode in a while... Then I got home and saw the temp. 37 degrees! Chris, New bikes? Not all of us! I got rid of my 98 S-3 for a 97 T595. It got older and better! Duane, Does this mean you won't be drooling over my Daytona in a drunken stuper at Border Raid? Well I guess everyone needs a hobby. Just when I have the potential (mind you I said potential and not ability) to keep up with you and the S1, you go and get a faster bike then mine. Good thing I know my place, waaaaay back at the back of the pack. Oh well, at least I look cool on the black bike. I do have to admit that I envy the Speed Tripples a bit, but hell....they are getting to be a dime a dozen with our group these days. I'm rambling....guess it's time for bed. Later Folks |
