Okay... well, the Buell finally gave me an issue after all these years of abuse....
It was having this problem on the ride a couple/few weeks back.
Steady state cruising... its either losing fuel or spark(have replaced the fuel pump in the last couple years, but, cant remember when I did the fuel filter), and put a new coil in the fall, fresh plugs, etc...
Its either losing spark or fuel... BUT, twist the throttle, and all is well.
Lets SPECULATE... what do you think... only acts up under cruise... not accel/decel....
AND, my idle hangs between 1500-2000 for a minute when I stop.....
It seems like tuning... but, I am so involved with everything else, I cant devote the thought to it....
So you want us to guess what your bike is doing without any information on your part?
I would say...start with a simple tune up Plugs wires filter tps reset spary carb cleaner at the intake seals check the harness
Pretty much Basic Maintenance. Tunning problem? Not likely UNLESS YOU been messing with it, then I would look into that also. but if it was fine before, more than likely it is still okay.
We could guess on and on till the cows come home, but without any information or investigative work on YOUR part....it is just a guess.
I think you may need to devote some of your time to it or bring it in to a shop...
Better yet...Drop it off at my house, I will ride it till I find out what is wrong. Won't take me but the rest of the season to figure it out.
This is like me asking what is wrong with my motor? it made lots of noise and now wont run.
A chafed wire will behave like that. the torque of the engine will shift the engine relative to the frame. I suggest you pop the tank of and poke around under there.
Yeah, well, I was a little lit when I posted that(151 night), and was TRYING to think it through. I need to check the voltage at my O2, sensor, and leaning towards a TPS reset as well.... since I had to replace the Throttle body... seals are good, plugs are good.... wires... eh, but, no cracks, burns, or dry spots....
The S2 is on hold until after June. Just two more parts that need to be sanded and primer, fiberglass is taking along time to finish. All the paint is in just need time in the spray booth.
I made myself my own thread, but instead got flamed for not posting in the "general stream of consciousness." What's up guys, recently new Bueller here, but my bike had a few problems that got fixed, thanks to a few "higher-ups" at Buell.
To all: a) My name is James I live in Nashua and, now that school's out, will be riding a lot. Hopefully I can meet a few of you. b) does anyone have a Special Ops pipe I can maybe hear? I am contemplating buying one this winter.
To Shawn (USTorque): I sent you a PM a while back but I don't know if you got it. I just wanted to say everything's going well except a few minor electrical issues that need to be checked out, and I also wanted to say thanks for checking in, I appreciate the help.
You missed all the fun Jeff... youd hate to ride your bike all the way out to Providence? hehehe Thanks to Tripp and good to see Felix and meet a bunch of other buell owners.
