Here's the flickr link to our photos. http://www.flickr.com/photos/18159641@N05/sets/72157617321826817/ It was a great ride and some great memories (i.e. fog, drizzle, wind, wondering if we'll run out of gas before we hit the gas station, the circle, etc.). Thanks for the great ride for this relative newbie! (Message edited by crispy on April 29, 2009) |

Thanks, EZ! Not so spotless now. I've decided to let the old girl wear the bug-splatter and road dirt from the SLO ride as a badge of honor...at least for a week or two. She's 100% stock and 100% reliable...Just like the wife. |

Guess it chopped off part of the link (or didn't link all the address). We'll try this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/18159641@N05/sets/721 57617321826817/ |

That was soooo much fun I can't wait until next ride, thanks again to all you veterans who openly invite all the blastards in. Put the D&D on finally and now I know why Erik wears earplugs |

The D&D isn't bad - since its sound is constant - it will be easy to get used to - the others will blow out stuffing and then actually become louder than the D&D - so actually its a good sound for consistency and motor diagnostics - lol - if that header had done each step one size larger - it would have been the perfect header, but even conservatively done - the steps are right and take-off is brisk. Thanks Tom -- I really enjoyed the video clips and slide show. The SLO ride was a great experience that I count among my best memories. I tried to include a picture but image size is limited to 103kb. My pictures are much bigger. Any tips on how I can get my pictures through? |

select a 620 by 580 pixel size and save as a copy and post, or send to me and I'll shrink and send back for you to post. It was great having you with us on the Northern route - and yeah the rides where curvey enough to keep everyone smiling. Scott and I though where freezing our buts in the end and actually stopped for coffee before the final leg home. Still no biggie, and by the time we got home we where ready to enjoy it! Some Irish coffee and life was good. EZ |

Sycho, reading between the lines that would be a no! A bigger bike is much more suited to traveling, if you have the choice. And seriously, there were only two of us committed to the cause anyway (long term) and its now down to me. Looks like it will just be a SoCal rider getaway and that will be easier to coordinate. It was always more about the gathering for me anyway as few of us really have to ride 230 miles just to find some good roads. As I said, longer trips are more comfortable on a bigger bike if you have the choice.(I always have and I didnt) Nothing against EZ. I've been doing this (riding) a long time and I know how hard it is to give up the handlebars on a new bike. Having a couple Blasts in the garage and not riding them to a Blast event is pointless. He may change his mind by them, but right now his CR is still very new. Lets pick a weekend and start planning for it. If someone from NorCal want to take the reigns and join up, great. Otherwise... EB's own recent bashing of the Blast and having been an ardent and often sole cheerleader of this event for 5 years has left me a little cynical. |

Sorry, however, each ride is a mini-vacation for me and the wife, and my wife wants to see the north coast, the old pacific highway, some of the lakes and reservoirs above us and to the east of us. A lot of my other time is now monopolized by house projects which fill a 3rd of my garage waiting to be done - lol - as soon as I can get those done, then I can have room to organize my tools, add new ones - a standing press and a tire changer/balancing machine - have to bolt them both down to the foundation. This and currently slowly also working on the XBBlast project. EZ |

Is it too early to inquire about a SLO Ride 2010? I have a trustworthy, fully functional Blast this year. |

Not too early, but perhaps too late Its been more or less deemed DOA. Lack of support from the NorCal contingent last year and lack of support from the SoCal contingent in previous years has left the original organizers (EZ & I) weary (It was a lot of work just to get a dozen people total to show over the past 6 years). I can probably get a few people together, but you may be the only NorCal Blaster there. While I'm happy to help organize, I dont have enough time or energy to put forth on getting people to show up. EZ has also declined to participate this year. It's now up to the collective enthusiasm of the other California Blasters to make it happen. |

EZ and Toni representing NorCal! Perhaps we are the last of the Blastards, a rare breed. I am working on the possibility of a NorCal to Salt Lake City trip to do some riding in the Bonneville Salt Flats in late March and early April. Where would be the best place to post an invite and see if anyone here is interested? |

Probably in the Stormfronts section of 'regular' Badweb and at the NorCal thread here. "EZ and Toni representing NorCal"Last I heard EZ wasnt going to be doing the SLO ride, did something change? Why the Salt flats? |

I just meant that EZ and Toni are the only Blastards still alive in kicking in the SF bay area (there probably are many more, but I don't know of any affiliated here). I've got a wedding reception to attend in Salt Lake City soon so I'm considering a cruise through the Salt Flats while I'm there. I've driven that route, but it'd be a lot more fun to take the Blast to Bonneville. |
