Ok guys it has come down to the wire and i need to make a decision on what i am going to do.....I am thinking about stage 3 xb heads new and some axtell all aluminum cylinders with nik-a-sil plating new, SE.536 cams or.....A 1250cc big bore kit with the aluminum cylinders with iron liner, xb heads stage 2 light and .536 cams I have read up on the cylinders with the iron liners and i am worried they will shift later in the bikes life and wont be worth the money. I intend to ride this bike hard and want the best durability i can get out of quality parts. I will be leaving in 4 days to take the bike to the builder, I would like some input about durability and your own experiences using top end parts and services thanks as always! |

Nic-A-sil may be a good idea, I am having my iron lined cylinder honed I had to S**T can one as it was cracked from the fractory, 50cc pfffttt ~ 3 cuin good pistons, and jugs worth the invenstment just the same do your home work, better to leave late than to waste money. good luck on your project, IF I had the extra Cash I would do the nic-a sil jugs and forged pistons on my T-storm heads, My own tastes would be stage 1 heads, stock cams, 1250 NAS jugs |

I learned today that I'll be needing lifters and cams in Black Betty. I didn't take a close enough before and didn't notice some damage / wear. I'm really considering roller rockers too now. My plan was to get cams, roller rockers, headwork, and a good tune done all at the same time next winter. |

I'm with Oldog here, with maybe stage 2 heads. The standard cam would be fine. |

UH OH now i have an option to get a whole other 00 x1 for $3700.00 or spend $3700.00 on motor stuff. Wow this is a tuff one i can get more money for the motor work in 2 more months and could be riding by friday! HHhhmmmmmm????????? The other x1 has 12k on the odo and pm wheels, V&H pipe, a chrome force winder intake, and a boomerang style shifter. No Race ECM and the first recall shock on it! The guy selling it says he loves it but wants more of a cruiser so he can go on a long road trip this summer. He has only owned it for a couple of months and does not know how many other owners there were before he bought it, I must go see this bike before i decide. |

What'd Dan say about it? Personally, I'd go with stage II heads and .575 cams. Rather than Nikasil though, I'd have the cases bored and go with an iron 90" . |

.575 cams??? Good god. Here's what I'm going to be hopefully doing, pending on Jim's reply back: 1250 Nikasil Kit. XB heads (already have those) with a possible Stage 2...may be next year. .536 SE cams Billet Motor Mount Maybe some roller rockers and some decent lifters. And various other little goodies |

Hey Russ, I can sell you my Forcewinder for what I buy Guell's Bartel's intake for if you want. I've got a new rain sock I bought last fall for it too, used once; I'll even clean and oil the filter for you! It's had the float bowl breather opened up per the instructions in the KV though, I don't think this was needed for the FI bikes... don't know why it would affect injector function. That way you won't need to buy another X1, just to get that intake for your neat new motor... |

I'd be very interested in the force winder if he doesn't want it, the ham can hits my knee. |

Wow guys i talked to my engine builder and he said stay away from the all aluminum nikasil cylinders and noted that they are for racers concerned with heat and they are very fragile and they are usually changed every 3 races. He said the iron liner are the best to go with for street and track days, The cast iron are for drag racers! So i bought the 1250 kit, stage 2 port work on the heads and the new jugs iron lined, all new lifters (4) new fixed size push rods, se536 cams and new oil pump (updated) new oil pump drive gear, New clutch plate's , Race clutch spring and a muller power clutch, Also a new bored and plated intake y section and a set of modified injectors. I have $4000.00 and i am hoping to have enough to get the works rear shock also and if possible the pro progressive rate springs for the front forks with the gold valve kit upgrade. |

Last time I checked, it was somewhere between $650 and $800 to rebuild the front forks with weight-matched springs and gold valves from Racetech. |
