And so begins the rebuild of the M2. I have a lot that I want to do yet. Here is a list of things (and status of parts needed): Front fork swap (check) Fork Spring swap to Buell Pro-Series Springs (check) Braking front rotor (check) Install New Works Rear Shock (check, but need to get a different colored spring, it's blue) New PM wheels (check) New wiring harness (don't know yet, it's expensive) Replace all ISO's (check) Powdercoat swingarm, mounting block, triples and forks and other odds and ends Install Banke Rearsets (check) New head bolts and rods (need to order) Various bolts and crap (need to order) Kooks under the frame exhaust (have one on hold for me) 1250 Nikasil kit w/ Cometic gasket kit(need to order yet) XB heads (check, but need carb mount drilled) Screamin' Eagle .536 cams (need to order) Mikuni 42 (check) - Or should I go with a Screamin Eagle CV44??!?!?!! Mikuni cables (check) XB rocker boxes (still need to get) Roller rocker (if I can afford them, though I want reliability more than anything, so I haven't decided) Lifters (don't know which to get) Polished Oil Tank from metmachex (haven't ordered) All stainless braided oil lines with the clear coating if I can find them (need to remove old lines and get measured) Updated oil pump (check) Bronze oil pump drive gear (check) Check transmission (haven't gotten into that yet and I need the Clutch Spring Compression tool) Replace clutch (need to order that) Then I need to clean up that pulley, polish up a couple things (just stuff that needs to be cleaned really), and clean up the motor better since it's been dirty for awhile. Dig the bench I built for the motor! I made it a little too tall, but oh well. (Message edited by brinnutz on April 29, 2009) |

That took longer to make than the motor took to tear down, LOL.. Ya dig the way I mounted that catch pan? I thought it was ingenious! It's also going to double as my fork rebuild station if I ever get the tools to do that as well. Reminds me, need to add that to the to do list. Pro series X1 fork springs... |

I asked the same question about the carb issue. HRS42 vs. CV44 vs. CV40 reworked by Dakota Kid. The dice kept coming up mikuni. The mikuni quick kit works with the stock throttle cables. You also get the filter adapter flange with it. |

Thanks Loki, but I've got both the adapter and cables LOL. Probably going to get stainless ones anyways. =) So I may not need either! |

Oh, stand came from ebay. $20 shipped! I just build the bench that it's all bolted to, sorry I didn't clarify that! But it is pretty sweet. The last one I tried swiveled but the mount didn't, well, mount...lol |

i think wilson told me he had like 14k+ on the motor. stopped by to see him on the way to see me mom in columbus. although wilson is taller than me, he still made his stand a little to tall. i suggested he build a walking platform around it. needless to say, it was very interesting meeting wilson today. he has some neet stuff. |

Wilson - don't forget to put the second circlip in your pistons when you install them. I got all the way to the heads before I saw 2 of them in a bag still.. Lots of cursing and throwing tools ensued. And getting the rings squeezed back into the cylinders was definitely no less tedious the second time around. |
