Who thinks Buell should put higher handlebars for a more upright riding position? That way it can compete with the FZ1 and for those of us that like the sport bike look but don't want to lay on the bike to ride. |

i think its perfect where it is if they put high handlebars on them the rest of us would complain that they are not sport bike style handlebars. |

Hard core sport? This bike is whatever you want it to be. Neil (Ccryder) installed convertibars on his and does regular touring duty. I've done many 10 hour days, and don't feel that I have to "lay down" on it to ride it. I'm sure many others pile on the miles. If you want upright, buy a CR and get the high bar kit. Problem solved. |

> If you want upright, buy a CR and get the high bar kit. Problem solved. No kidding. If anything, the 1125r has the pegs a titch too low and the bars and inch or two too close to the seat. Any more comfortable and you would have to start calling the bike a "Viffer"! Personally, I think the 1125r is an excellent compromise for the street. I'd like it a titch more track oriented, but it's just fine as it is. The only reason I'm not faster is me, not the bike. |

I think the 1125r is an excellent compromise for the street. Yes is it. I hope in the next iteration Buell doesn't forget that. |

FWIW, I think they did a great thing with the options available on the CR. Doing something similar with the R would be cool. Imagine, a catalog of Factory Parts that one could use to make the bike into what you want it to be...... No downside to that. Then we could spend time arguing about which configuration was the best! If they wanna make a senior citizen version, fine. But no way should they jack with the ergos on the 1125r. I was at a multi brand dealer over the weekend to get the woman a riding jacket. While she shopped, I looked and sat on many sport bikes. None compared to the 1125r comfort wise. |

Woodcraft makes some nice raised clip ons. I've used them on several of my bikes. My body composition doesn't lend itself very well to being hunched over for hours on end. I raise the bars an inch or so and I'm good to go. |

I hope they make a move in the design. either or 1. Make a true naked bike. Remove pods. place radiator behind wheel. CR headlamp to light on both sides , R reduced height of fairing. or 2. Design a sexy full fairing from scratch tying in angels from Fairing to exhaust with one aggressive look. |

I'm all for a full faired unit being available in 2010, as long as it's retrofitable for my 08. |

No need to change the basic design, just add a good set of hard bags and mounts to the accessory list. However, if they do add bags and sell a ST model the insurance rates could drop significantly over the current R and CR. |

I hope they leave it alone. Drop the price $2000. And sell a million of them. |

I said that it can be made into one rather easily. I don't think anyone would argue that my Firebolt wasn't built as a sport tourer, but that didn't stop me from riding it 1000 miles from NY to GA with 100% stock ergos. And I think my CR is more comfortable than my Firebolt was. I plan on riding it out to Ohio this summer, over 1200 miles round trip, with no other changes than some hard luggage. It can be whatever you want it to be. |

I would bet big money you will see the price drop for sure, 'guaranteed' but the sales will not spike without a a new look. They could even increase the engine size just a bit and relaunch the whole bike with mew names and say a 1150 engine. Then, you might see a million sales. |

"a 1125cc bike for 7999 isnt cheap enough? most 600's are more expensive. thats about the price as a entry level bike." I'd like to see one for that little. Even the left over 08's are selling for $9500-$9700 out the door. I hear about these cheap bikes all the time but YET to actually see one. Forget about getting a current model year for $7999. If someone should know where there is a brand new 09 for $7999 let me know as it is worth having it shipped to me. |

There are a number of leftover 08 600s on the show rooms here going for 7k right now. Central California. |

There have been some posted here at those prices but they must have been non sponsors as the thread disappeared. If you are not finding the 08s at that price your not trying. |

Why do you folks want the price lowered? Are they not worth the current price? How many of you paid 10K for a XB? Not sure I follow the thinking that the price is too high, especially since it is well under the competition for comparable models. |

Again no actual dealer names. I have a list as long as my arm of dealer leads I have chased down and not a single 08/09 bike for under $9500. There was a dealer name listed in Fla that claimed to have had a smokin' deal however I have yet to hear back from them on an OTD price. If you guys know where they are and aren't taking one for yourself let the rest of us know where they are at. For 8k I'll have the bike shipped to me. Dealers/Sponsors if you have one at the deals that are claimed to be out there give me a shout. (Message edited by puzzled on April 28, 2009) |

Agreed Puzzled. I thought you were talking 600s. Don't know why on re-reading so I must have been in too much of a hurry reading the first time. I think people are just "having a little fun" with the 1125 price debates. |
