I'm have a problem with the front brake lever fading on my 03 XB9S. I've flushed and bleed it 5 times using the correct fluid, replaced the compression washers and cleaned everything, but my front brake lever still fades to the knuckles under hard braking. I have the lever set on the number 1 setting and new pads helped a little. What am I missing here?

fade implies deteriorating performance with continued use.
sounds like your system is not fading, it just plain doesn't work right from the get-go.
if you are SURE that the bleeding is complete and correctly done, the only other choice is fluid bypassing seal(s) in the master and/or caliper........
most likely, there is still air in the line
there are several discussions of similar problems in the kv that may point the way
i ended up needing an mc rebuild...... |

If the problem worsens with pad wear, then it's caused by sticky caliper pistons/piston gaskets. This is a known issue with nissin calipers, commonly found at speed triples 955 and 1050 series, before triumph switched to brembo calipers in 2008.
The only known (temporary) help is to clean and re-grease the caliper pistons/gaskets.
