JQ, Interesting. Some of the details... "This marks the sixth consecutive year of record sales in the US and represents nearly a four percent increase over the previous year." Four percent? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that lags far behind the rest of the industry, doesn't it? "December sales reached an all-time monthly high at 1,625 motorcycles, showing a 40 percent gain over last December." December 2001, gee I wonder what happened to so drastically deflate sales volume at that time in 2001? "The top-selling model for 2002 was, once again, the R 1150 RT. The next best-selling bikes were the popular K 1200 LT luxury tourer and the R 1150 GS adventure tourer. States reporting the highest number of BMW motorcycle sales included California, New York, Florida, Texas, and Colorado." Aren't all those bikes well over 500 pounds? Are any of them competing in the Buell market? How many sport bikes did BMW sell in the USA last year? They say later that their R1100S sales are up 21%, but fail to mention how many were sold. I'm guessing a couple thousand, maybe. Interesting to note that they perceive the additional sales to be a result of the boxer cup replica campaign. Maybe Buell should do a Pro Thunder replica of the Firebolt? |

I hate to draw attention away from all things Buell, but being that you're all such gearheads I'm going to ask anyway: any wonderful (a'la BadWeb) web pages out there to research Porsche 911's? Thanks (two wheels will always be my favorite transportaion). |

Ferris Mate, it's a good job I know your from the US of A, the following means somthing so different down under. "IF i get my VFR back together in time (checking valve clearances on the thing is SUCH a drag), i might ride down to the Springs and root you on." Rough Australian translation. Vik after I fix the VFR, I will come down to the Springs and copulate with you. |

We don't know the industry average yet. It was projected to be 7%, if that turns out to be correct, then, yes, they are lagging behind the industry at 4%. |

Paul, Vik's a good lookin' guy and all, but he just isn't my type. "rooting" means something entirely different down under, i take it? (which is funny, because "down under" means something entirely different to me!) and the VFR isn't broken, but as much disassembly that's required just to get to the cam buckets, it sure LOOKS like it is. would i be safe in Australia if i said something like "Vik, if i can remember where everything goes as i put my VFR back together, i might make it down to the Springs and CHEER you on"? Paul, Rest assured, Ferris is perfectly fluent in Ozzie. FYI, the mini sampler of Vegemite is almost finished. It hasn't displaced the refried beans in my diet, but it does offer an interesting cullnary change of pace. Wife got a gift for Christmas that is kin to Vegemite; it's called "Sun Dried Tomato and Olive Relish." Both go down very well spread sparingly on a cracker and accompanied by a stout brew. Vik, You might want to keep your leathers on if/when FB comes *rooting* around. |

I got my Hot Wheels set last week. The box is unopened...and I may just leave it that way. I also got a hard rubber license plate frame for free from a local shop...that oughta hold my plate together. I'm sure they were thinking free advertising, but I drilled holes all through their logo. Maybe Buell should do a Pro Thunder replica of the Firebolt? How many people even know Pro Thunder even existed?...let alone that Buell exists! How about a Lightning Series replica XB9S? that might work better than what would surely end up being an extravagantly priced Pro Thunder rep |

Vik, you can thank me for the constant criticism: "dude, yer gonna race on THAT?" "uhhh vik, everyone else is going the OTHER way around the track" "Dont you think you aught to add more padding to the seat of yer leathers? ya know, so it doens hurt so much when you get yer a$$ kicked?" oh, yes, and the generator. Actually, thank ChopPop (my dad) for that. |

Blake try the vegimite in Mashed Potato. Ferris that sounds safe. Vik good luck and enjoy the racing. "uhhh vik, everyone else is going the OTHER way around the track" Chop it could be that Vik is the only one going in the right dirrection, there is always more than one way to look at anything. |

Dave, It is all carbon fiber plus more(undertail and air cleaner) but it is not a factory carbon fiber extreme. The bike was totaled in an accident and I found some great deals on carbon fiber parts!! |

Dan: I'm with Jose, #2 is the best, but you need to take the pic earlier in the day so the sun is more overhead and the shadows don't interfere with the lines of the (gorgeous) bikes! road_ansel_adams_thing |

Anyone know where to pick one of these up? This was back in Hals speed shop. Its a promotional item distributed to the Dealerships. I gotta have 1. Hals said they got 4 of them & they are all gone. And none left the building either. Damn perks of working there, I gotta get a part time job } |
