Based on 1_mike's suggestion (I think it was him), I had the dealer download the newest ECM for the '09 1125, ending in 12Z. Low speed and low throttle drivability, while isn't perfect, is a million times better. The percieved driveline lash is greatly reduced and the bike just runs and drives much better now. If you're having issues with low speed/low throttle drivability, give this new map a shot before resorting to an aftermarket solution. It's 82 and sunny. I'm going riding. |

Cool! This week, I have to take my bike in for the turn signal. I'll see if they can do it then! R |

My bikes going in for the battery drain issue. That would be nice if they could load this program into my 08' too. |

I just had the 12Z uploaded on my 09CR this past week & it made a great improvment on the operation below 4,000 revs. Makes it much more enjoyable to ride in city traffic. |

My bikes going in for the battery drain issue. That would be nice if they could load this program into my 08' too. Have the your dealer check for an ECM update. There is a 4th version available for the 08 25Rs. This is important "IT IS ONLY ON THE DIGITAL TECH. THEY HAVE TO HOOK YOUR BIKE UP AND CHECK FOR AVAILABLE ECM RECALIBRATIONS" It helped my battery drain problem quite a bit, especially because my bike didn't qualify for the 09 ODIS replacement that a lot of people on here got. IT also really helped the low RPM driveabilty quite a bit as well. (Message edited by bikejunky on April 26, 2009) |

I didn't see an answer to Eagle1's question, so I will re-ask: is it only for the 09, or can I get it for my 08? |

Marco, I believe but don't know for sure because I haven't had time at work to verify so this is not a verified fact...that the fourth 08 DL and the 09 map are different, but designed to do the same thing as far as the low speed drive/lash issues are concerned as well as handle the drain issues on the 08. I think this because of the difference in the 2009 injectors and how they are targeted. Because of this difference I don't think you can put the 09 DL onto the 08 ECM without causing fairly large fueling issues. |

There are two separate calibrations for the 2008 and 2009 1125s. In addition to the injectors being different, the O2 sensors are in a different location as well. |

glad to help. This map will only work on '09 bikes, though as others mentioned there is likely a calibration to work with the '08 injectors and O2s. After riding a bunch more yesterday I can further confirm how much better the bikes runs and rides now. I reccomend it enough. |

Just got my baby back this morning from the turn signal deal, and I believe they loaded the 12Z flash. I haven't had time to ride it around at street speeds much, but it does feel smoother. Looks like it's worth doing! R |

Low speed (below 4000 rpm) driveability. Seems much smoother. R |

Sorry Carbon, I should have been more exact with question considering the thread subject. I was asking about the 08 re-flash Junky was posting on. Is this the same re-flash from a few months back or the "rumored re-flash" from a few weeks ago. Thanks (Message edited by unibear12r on April 28, 2009) |

The Reflash from a few months ago was M3HUS04z M3HUS05z is the most recently released. 4z was supposed to help with the battery drain issue. 5z really helped out a ton on the bottom as my ride home last night proved. XL1200R - sorry bout the hijack |

Now you guys got me wondering what flash was done to my bike about a month ago. They told me it was the most current flash and the bike runs like crap under 4,000rpm. Its back to its surging and bucking. MPG still seems ok and has no codes. My bike is an 08R, I wonder if it is possible to put the wrong flash in it somehow. Is there a California specific version of this latest flash? I like to be specific and informed when I turn my baby over to the service dept. |

XL1200R - sorry bout the hijack No problem - as long as folks know about this stuff and it can aleviate some complaints. Chevy - I'd bet that a flash from a month ago isn't the latest, but I have no way to confirm when these lastest ones came available. Not sure if there's a CA version - is the ECM any different on a CA model? I think the bikes are identical to the 49-state bikes except for the charcoal canister. |

The CA mapping is different due to CARB estrictions. I have seen it myself on ECMSPy. They do some rotten things here in CA to the fueling. (Message edited by fresnobuell on April 29, 2009) |
