Anyone selling one? Or know where i can order one fairly quickly? D&D or the HMF. I dont care for the jardine stuff, unless the price is right. Thanks Duncan |

^lol I just ordered the HMF, powder coated black $435 shipped. I just wish i had time to ride the damn thing. I have had it 13 months and have only managed 2600 miles. I liked the sound exhaust after I modded it, but it keeps blowing (skin is too thin in places, my mistake) and I am tired of repairing it. I will get this pipe on and start fabbing a chin spoiler, its the only thing this it is lacking. I love the look of my XB12R, maybe I will take it off and see if I cant get it to work One of these days I will catch up with you. Christ you are only 11 miles away, working too hard i guess. Did you change the color of your bike again? Maybe a blue? If so I think i saw it, looks good! Sci (Message edited by sci on April 22, 2009) |

^ha, I had an issue paying $400 for the HMF, I havent seen the prices on the drummer stuff but i can imagine. I dont know why exhaust is so dammed expensive. I will build my own one day. (Message edited by sci on April 23, 2009) |

drummer=life of the bike others like jardine, hmf etc are known for falling apart in a couple years. now u can see the difference. 1 exhaust to the 3 or 4 or 5. my friend has had zero luck with those cheap pipes. jardine last i think 13 months then he bought a yoshimura full system... cans totalled... 8 months. thats just one friend. i was really considering a jardine myself. i knew it wouldnt last very long but i wanted a pipe and it makes it easy to buy because of the price. but i didnt like it rate up next to the swingarm. actually hate the look. but economic reasons get u to favor things. i got the drummer, didnt expect to get a call for months, another reason for lookin at other exhausts. but this puppy is gonna last a long time. I wish the others good luck to make it a year. |

There is no way I would drop a grand on a muffler. I didn't even want to pay the $400 for the HMF. Time to start building our own, it can be done for under 2 bills, and that includes the dyno testing. |

Buying the parts and building your own is fun and you learn some things while your at it. Took me 2 days to fabricate my exhaust w/ a buddy of mine. I think it came out pretty good. Oh, under 200 bills too |

You could also just re-pack it those 'cheaper' exhausts. |

falls apart. the packing goes but thats normal. just repack it. but they literally fall apart. theres nothing wrong with a cheap pipe. there cheap, they work. but its just theres a reason there cheaper. and i know i know the amount that gets sold helps the price but u get what im saying |

Strange...over the years, I've had M4, D&D SuperTrap, Leo Vince and a couple other "cheap" exhaust systems... Other than the packing requiring redoing...none have fallen apart..! One M4 went to 85,000 miles, one D&D went to almost 105,000 miles, the Super Trap was beat to death on Angeles Crest Hwy. for a few years (no recorded mileage) with no problem. The Leo Vince on my R1 is still going strong at almost 98,000 miles. Maybe i've just been lucky...? I also have a hard time with 800 - 1500 dollar exhaust systems on motorcycles. I know for a fact...these guys have seen us coming. I've known two motorcycle exhaust builders. They both let me know how much per system they were making. Even using titanium. I keep trying to talk a friend of mine that builds car headers to get into bikes. Does excellent work...he could make a fortune. He won't do it..! Mike |

+1 on the Drummer. Awesome exhaust. Outstanding Customer Service. Turns a great bike into one incredible ride. Not to mention it sounds freakin AWESOME. Give Kevin a call and talk to him about it before you make a decision. www.kdfab.com RB |

Just curious: has anyone ever personally had a Jardine actually fail on your own bike? Not the packing, but an actual buy-a-new-pipe failure? Kinda late for me to hear this now, since I just bought one, but I'd be interested in FIRST-HAND accounts. |

same here. I have had Yosh cans, supertrapp, V&H, they all get a little louder over time, but I have never had one of mine, or heard of one of my friends actually falling apart. Sounds like propaganda to me. |

JMR, I'm not calling you out. I believe you when you say your friend's pipe failed (and I'd like to hear more about the details). But, having already shelled out $700 and change, I do for sure want to hear from anyone who has 1st hand knowledge. |

im trying to get pictures of them. as far as what happened jardines bracket broke which tweeked the whole system. yosh not quiet sure. lost the end cap, he went through a ton of bull with their customer service and just switched to another exhaust. i think he actually just changed the can over to another company. because the ti pipes where freaked bad ass. like i said im not lookin to to change peoples mind, or bicker but only help them be satisfied with our motorcycle. the pipes that u find that are fully welded made of better material and dyno tested and made for the specific bike are goin to be more expensive. u get what u pay for. most of the pipes out (besides drummer, tm's, possibly d&d. maybe remus. and saron). are just generic pipes. i wish all a good riding season. and lets get our bikes seen and heard. woo-raH |
