Bob G: If you update your profile with your current e-mail address I'll send you an e-note. Do you keep track of your gas milage? What do ya get? Eric G: How's the heated handgrips project coming along? Do you know about this BBS? Do you keep track of your gas milage? What do ya get? |

Ray, I'll do that. I think the Sprint get about 48 mpg at legal speeds and about 45 hovering around 90mph. |

Put a rear wheel hugger on sweet pea tonight. Hope the wife likes it. It should keep the back of the bike a little cleaner from the road grime. Frame sliders are next and then the wheels go back on when they get back from the polishers. Roc I sent them to Oregon Plating so we will see how the end results are. Mike Ray I will send funds back with Bob and Deb when they come down south. |

Mike - thanks for the polishing information. I think my rear wheel might be porious throughout, not just on the surface, so I'm probably going to paint it. |

I really really like my Fuel Injected bike! After work this afternoon I stood beside my bike and put my ear plugs in, my jacket, helmet and eye glasses on. Then and only then, I turned the key, pushed the button. The bike started tight up and ran smoothly for the 30 seconds or so that it took to slip on my gloves. I jumped on the bike and rode out into traffic and rode home without incident. Five minutes of slow city traffic before I get to the freeway was all the warm up it gets or requires. All the while I was thinking about the start up drill for the carburetored M2. Pull the Enricher (not a choke, thank you), start it up, play with the Enricher so the bike would continue to run but not too fast. Tweak the adjustment six times as the bike warmed up while I put on my gear. Finally get on, snick it into gear and drive about eight and a half feet before running out of gas because I forgot to turn the gas tap on. Turn the gas tap on. Ride off and stall the bike at least once before it fully warms up. Spend the rest of the trip wondering if I turned the tap all the way to Reserve or not and how far I had already ridden on this tank of gas. Bla-bla-bla. A properly set up FI system is a very good thing! |

Ray, I haven't had time to deal with the grips yet, things been pretty hectic at work. I'm taking the bike in next week for routine service and will have them installed then. As for gas mileage, I'm averaging about 46 to 48, my best being 53. Thanks for the link. I wasn't aware of that board. When I have some time, I'll have to look through it more thoroughly. |

Bob, As a matter of fact I was just talking to my wife about that this morning. Will some time this week work, preferably a somewhat dry day? Let me know when you anticipate being home and when a good time would be. Did you really buy a Speed Triple? Are you keeping your ST? If not, I know some one who might be interested in it. Paul |
