Probably a dumb question, but I just bought a new battery for my '03 Firebolt and the posts are set in a bit instead of flush like the original battery. So the connectors don't sit against the post properly. Does this mean I cant use this battery? But they all seem to be like that.. the posts are set back enough that they don't allow for proper connection.
The required bolts for connecting the leads are also bigger than my original ones. Not sure what to do? Should I buy longer, bigger bolts? Then what do I do with the fact that the positive and negative connections won't sit flush? |

Usually batteries with inset connections come with spacers to make the connections flush or post adapters if needed.
The spacers are basically thick washers with a flat on one side. If the battery did not come with spacers you can use washers and modify as required.
What make of battery is it?. |

Thanks!!, i figured there must be some type of spacer for it. I will try that or use washers. Also the battery is too narrow so Ill probably need some type of spacer under the strap to hold it in place. I guess thats the cost of saving a few bucks and not buying direct from Harley. |

Tells, I changed the battery in my '04 Bolt today. Had the same issue but the battery came with the bolts and proper washers with it. It fired right up and I'm very happy. |
