I just changed my 3rd rear tire. It was a Pilot ROad 2CT with 9,700 miles and, no wear bars showing. It was squared off so I figured it was time for a change anyway. I tried the stock tires and got about 3,200 miles. I tried Road Attacks and got about 6,500 miles. Granted they don't have the bite of the Pirelli but, at 3x the mileage and all weather very good grip, I put on another set of Pilot Road 2CT's. Since I ride 18,000-22,000 miles a year, I need some rubber that will last. Anybody else have any good experiences? Later all. Neil S. |

Put a pair of 2CTs on 1500 miles ago, front like new, rear finished! I don't wheelie or spin up the rear. Gonna try something different next time. Diablos lasted 2000 miles. |

I think you mean Pilot Road 2, not 2CT. The 2CT name is associated with Pilot Power tires and they are more of a super sport rather than a road tire. |

I put on a Pilot Power 2CT, got about a thousand miles on it. Barely showing wear, and I've been beating the crap out of it. I have been a big fan of the Conti RoadAttack, but this is kinda cool. I still have the stocker on the front, and will be matching it to the back one when I change. R |

Mr Ron: Yes, there are Pilot Road 2. There was a time after Macadam changed into Pilot Roads where they mentioned Pilot Road 2 and then when the 2CT technology came out they included that in the Pilot Road 2's DNA (all marketing hype if you please). The 2CT technology was first shown on the Pilot Power. As with any good technology, they were able to carry it over (the "2 Compound Technology") to other applications. "Until now, you had to make a choice: the grip of a softer tire – or the durability of a harder tire? But thanks to Michelin 2CT dual-compound technology, the new Pilot® Road 2 tire offers both grip and durability in one tire. By integrating a soft rubber compound on the tread shoulders with a wear-resistant compound down the middle, Michelin gives you the best of both worlds. The Pilot® Road 2 tire is like two tires in one. Best wet grip of any comparable sport touring tire* Longest mileage of any comparable sport touring tire* Rider confidence in challenging conditions 11 sizes covering 94% of all sport touring radial fitments The only dual-compound tire in the sport touring segment Innovative front and rear tread designs An extension of the Pilot® Road line, not a replacement " I tried the Road Attacks and they were good but did not hold up as well as the PR2 with 2CT. Has anybody ever fit a really hard compound back tire and practiced a little slippin and slidin? One would have to be careful, but it would probably do good things for your riding skills... Or am I saying the equivalent of "Hold my Beer! Y'all watch THIS!" (otherwise known as a Rednecks last words...) R |

JMR, thanks and I'll start an oil thread!! R, you'd be best to try it in the dirt, much safer and easier learning curve. Andrewisu, a pair for run around $300. Tim and Ernie at http://twobrotherstires.com/ have given me the best prices and delivery lately. Shop around and then give them a call. They don't post their prices so you have to call. Out of the last 6 tires I've bought, they beat everyone by at least $15-$20 a pair. Tire prices have jumped in the last 8-10 months by 10-15% and the newer technology is also a little higher. The upside is increase performance and mileage. Time2Run Neil S. |
