Wow , Thanks everybody , wasnt expecting this kind of response , I spent a lot of time with paper template's, Then many more cardboard template's Then to CAD drawings They are on file now The sheet of aluminum is about 3/16ths maybe 1/8th Then Laser cut , rolled , fitted ( it is not a perfect fit ) some modifications required . Then some welding for the front "scoop" I applied an adhesive heat shield material internally , some cosmetic fillers , sanding , prep , primer , paint etc... And finally ......the above results It really didnt end up being all that cheap , but I think it was worth it , IMO I could always see what kind of response I get and what cost's might be , IDK I've actually been trying , calling and emailing to try and get Geico stickers.....not luck yet . And just so everybody knows , if I get some Geico stickers....YES I will remove some of the other stickers....LOL (Message edited by thurstonbuell on April 21, 2009) |

Do you work with that kind of machinery as a living? or did you go and had it done in a shop? It looks very professional! Thanks! |

luis, Sorry , been away for a bit , it's a combination of both , business and "friends" I'd guess you'd say , mostly a desire for a decent looking belly pan.... Ken |

I think you did a great job on the bellypan. I had been looking around at the full fairings because I think they look very good on the R. Your belly pan "completes" the bottom of the bike and a fairing wouldn't be needed IMO. I'd be interested in buying one from you if you ever decide to make them. |

I agree with Usmoto on that the Belly Pan looks good by itself and does not require full fairings. Nice job. |

Thanks for the positive feed back , I've been looking into what it would take to provide them to anyone interested , I'm not sure what BWB allows and doesn't allow in that department . I would assume what we do on our own is permissable ??? I've had a few private messages sent . my cost's drop dramatically as the "lot" amount goes up for obvious reasons . Then there's the whole thing about welded , un welded , painted and prep'ed or not , plus it's only a 90 % ready fitment , some personal attention required . I really wouldnt be looking to make anything , just cover most my cost's and maybe buy a beer.....ok , maybe a few beers . LOL So depending on what the response's are from this thread , I would be willing to see what I could do for my fellow BWB Buellers !!! Ken. |

I'd be interested, esp if no one comes up with a lower fairing kit. What would be the 10% I'd have to do on my own? |

Well again .....would you want or need the two pieces welded together , some body filler , primer etc... But more specifically , drill four holes ( in aluminum ) easy , bend , some trimming required ( again very easy , its aluminum ) thats about it...... Im not a manufacturer so its not 100% is all Im saying , but most of you are pretty handy Im sure And I applied a self adheasive heat shield internally |

You could sell that pan all day long. In fact you could become a Buell supplier it really helps clean up the bikes looks. |

seeing as nobody has removed me from this thread , lol .... Before I decide if I want to do this.... And I can get an Idea of cost , could those interested send me a PM with the following : 1) That you're interested And.... 2) What form you would "like" to receive it in ie: 2 Raw pieces bent to rough shape , one piece already welded , or as close to what I have as possible ( painted , drilled etc ) ? |

Exactly. Almost finished. I don't mind if I have to make some "adjustments". I would take care of holes, paint but definitively no welding. Some bending to make it fit is OK. But I am seriously interested. |
