Hi, I've got a 2000 m2. I want to put a shorter S1 style rear fairing on my bike. I would also like to put a front fairing on my bike that resembles the one found in this image. Thanks. Erik |

That's a good looking x1 there, that front fairing looks nice with the stock chin fairing's lines - it would probably look good with the m2's manta tank too. On that s1 tail, you'll need to modify your subframe to make it fit cleanly. The earlier (pre '99) m2 tail is pretty slim and is supposed to be a direct swap so if you don't want to cut and weld or pay someone do it for you you might consider that option. |

I worked as a chassis builder through college. My tig isn't as nice as my old boss' but I'm friends with him still so I don't think that getting work done will be a problem. Thanks though. Does anyone know WHERE I could find these kits? Erik |

Well the chin is stock, so you can get a new one from a sponsor or local dealer, American Sport Bike has them in carbon fiber or buy one off the classifieds. Ditto the tail, may be harder to find from the dealer though, are you going to do the single or twin tail? I've heard there are still brand new twin tail sections out there as a kit from Buell. The headlight cowl looks cool, never seen one of those before though. |

s1 tail sections are currently available in single and twin configurations $290.00 for primed, 3 weeks lead time (if you're going to do twin on an m2, might as well just go with 97-98 m2 tail sections don't require subframe alteration. if you'd like a painted color-matched s1 tail they are available for $385.00, if you'd like to order one call me at: 401-724-0010 or email parts@precisionhd.com badwebbers get 10% off, we are a proud badweb sponsor! |

I have a 99 cyclone and did just that... I found a tail section off ebay for 100$. There are two screw holes that match up on the frame and faring. I wanted mine to sit up a bit so I put a 1 1/2'' spacer between them. I used a sportster seat to top it off, and added to the fairing a little extra to cover the frame; I wasn't ready to weld it just in case it didn't look too good, but turned out pretty well. All I really did was cut off the very end of the frame where it kind of looks like a u and put some LED's in the holes for turn signals

Is your bike black, and do you want to sell the tail fairing when you get it done? |
