Just bought a 2009 XB12Ss. A day after Tax day. Already have 475 miles on it. Picture is my 13 year old son sitting on it.

RFMD. Moved down from Lowell MA back on November. Lot more time to ride down here. Rode to Wilson yesterday. 138 miles pone way. I'm only 25 miles from finishing the "break in period. This morning when I started it up, it blue some "oil" smoke but cleared up quickly. When my knees get too old for the 12Ss I'll have to get a 12X Uly. Of course, everyone in my family (brothers, mother, not the wife) is telling me stories about peole who dide on motorcycles. |

Welcome aboard. I love the Cherry Bomb. Looks like you need a C-3 jr. label. We have several with kids about that age. We spent Easter just north of you up on the mountain with family and friends. I hope you join us on the next Mountain Grass ride. (Message edited by M2nc on April 19, 2009) |

Congrats on the new bike! Once you get used to it, give me a holler if you're up for a ride. I'm also in G'boro. |

I'm going to try to get out to the roads around Hanging Rock park this weekend. Close enough for a morning ride and still be home to bring my son to his baseball game. I love the way this bike handles. One guy guessed it was a 500 or 600. When I said 1200 he was stunned. Given that it is 27 pounds lighter than a Suki SV650 I'm not surprised he guessed that small. 400 pound. Now if I can just lose 100 pounds the bike will be even better. I can do it. I only weighed 165 when I met my wife almost 20 years ago. Its not too much to think I can get down to 175 is it? |

Fish, be sure to hit 66 all the way to 89. That is one twisted road! I came home that way a week ago. Road is clean, but the pavement is very uneven. Be careful, it can bite 'ya. |

I always take it easy on unfamiliar roads. Had a blast back in '83 with my little Kaw 440 going up to the Sunspot Observatory in NM. New pavement and new Dunlop Qualifiers. |
