FirstGear armored leather jacket, HJC helmet, FirstGear gloves. Any climate that it's not snowing in I rode with this gear plus a neck gaiter and heated grips last week several times in the mid 20s, vent the jacket and I'm good to 100 degrees. |

HJC flip up full face (i forget the model) Power Trip textile jacket, Buell gloves, jeans and low boots... I ride when the weather is 50+. When it is very warm out; as far as safety gear goes I only wear my helmet and gloves. (Message edited by earwig on April 17, 2009) |

You wear ONLY HELMET AND GLOVES???? Might I suggest at least a thong too? I know that in California, we have laws governing indecent exposure!! (insert smiley here) (Message edited by slaughter on April 17, 2009) |

Schuberth Concept C1 (nice, but would not recommend it) First Gear Killamanjaro Air armored jacket. Icon spine protector. First Gear armored pants. No name leather gauntlet gloves. Joe Rocket calf high riding boots (would not recommend) All that gear gets ridden year round, even in 100 degree heat. The back protector goes on for every ride as well. If I am out on the dirt bike, I also wear external knee and shin pads, and need to get better boots. I should get a chest protector as well, they are cheap and effective, but then I would have to loose the armored jacket and add elbow pads. |

Alpinestars vented textile jacket, gloves and pants. It gets hotter than blazing hell here in the summer (May-Oct). Leather is nice, heatstroke isn't. HJC CL-14(?) helmet. On the days last winter when it was 28* in the morning, I was never really cold with the above combo after installing plastic liner and wearing a light fleece jacket under it all. Runny nose, fogged up visor and mildly numb fingers were the only problems. (Message edited by saratoga on April 17, 2009) |

Full leather, every time, everywhere... doesn't matter if it's 5 minutes or five hours. Non-perf with layers when it's cold, perforated during the summer...and leather is not any hotter than textile. Full gauntlet leather gloves with knuckle protection, perf for summer. I've got one and two-piece leathers in black/grey, red/black, and blue/black, so I have boots and helmets to match: Gaerne GR-S Carbon (grey/blk); Oxtar Evo Ti (red/blk); Arai Signet GT-R (solid blue); Suomy Extreme Hodgson replica (grey/blk); Shark RSI Laconi replica (red/wht/blk graphic). Looks like too many people here are not protecting their lower body. It cannot be made clear enough the importance of dressing for the crash, not the ride. ATGATT saved my life. There's never an excuse good enough to rationalize not protecting yourself. You will go down- it's just a question of when, and how bad. Stop fooling yourself and get serious about riding- you think any professionals would wear less protection on a track? Tracks are the safest place to ride a motorcycle. The street is the killer. Wear all the gear- all the time... stop making excuses. |

Actually, in the summer you'll be cooler wearing leather pants on a Buell than you would just wearing jeans. It helps alleviate that BLS (Buell Leg Syndrome) condition... |

Every time: HJC CL14 helmet Joe Rocket jacket (half of a 2-piece leather suit) Cortech Vice gloves AlpineStars half-calf or ankle-height boots I wear the leather pants when I go on a bike trip or when I know I'll be riding with a bit more...spirit. I have a perforated leather Vanson jacket for when it gets a little warm for the Joe Rocket, and a mesh for when it's really hot (90+). |

Wow, 17 posts before somebody climbed up on the soapbox. I'm surprised. Not knocking safety. I, along with most of the people here I think, understand the importance of safety gear. However I am opposed to mandatory helmet laws as well as seatbelt laws for riders and passengers over the age of 18. If the laws were done away with in my state I would still wear one but it would be my choice, the way I think it should be. It's just MY OPINION but if some douche bag wants to go tear ass on a bike with no helmet and spill his brains all over the pavement he should be able to. Oh, kudos on the matching outfits.
