Ok guys, I've searched the tech KV and haven't been able to find a clear answer to my question: Why does the bike "pop" when I twist the throttle before taking off? This happens a lot-cold or fully warmed up. The noise is coming from underneath the air cleaner cover. Also as I am going down the road (highway) and I am at a constant speed for a while, there will be a pop that sounds like it is coming from the muffler (backfire maybe?) This will happen 2 or 3 times during my trip. What would cause this? I am at 500 miles on my 07 XB12s and ready to take it to the dealer for the initial service. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pete |

it could be a couple of things. probably all electrical. best to take it in and have them put it on the computer. make sure your running 91 octain. have them check your tps. |

Premium is the only grade I have been putting in there. I will take it in and have them look at it. Thanks! |
