I posted something similar ADVrider but I figured this subforum gets lots of traffic: I'm riding the Uly down to FL from NYC next week. Initially to Jacksonville and then on to Clearwater and Sarasota before heading back north. My rear Distanzia is about half shot. I'd rather not replace it until it's totally worn so I'm looking at my options in FL. I can either buy a tire down there (if it's reasonable) and have it mounted or I can buy a tire online and have it shipped to my buddy in JAX and then find someplace to have it mounted. I've already called Adamec HD in JAX. They want $105 just for labor and they will not mount a customer supplied tire. I've PM'ed Buellgator of Gainesville HD through both this forum and Buelletinboard...he has not replied. I can't easily pull the wheel off the bike while I'm traveling so I really need to find someplace that can remove the wheel and mount the tire. Any suggestions from you FL guys is appreciated. I just spoke with Gainesville HD...they said they could M&B my tire for $75 on the bike, so I'll probably just order a tire and bring it down to Gainesville. Tipsy |

Tipsy- There's at least one Cycle Gear chain store in JAX. I've been told most if not all them will mount a tire for ~$30 if you bring the wheel in. For $75, I don't think you'll beat Gainesville's deal. |

Thanks Hugh...I guess I'll go with Gainesville. I just ordered the tire. Tipsy |

tipsy, paul is really good people and if it took a while for him to get back in touch, i'm sure there was a good reason. of which you probably figured out already. anyhow, when do you expect to get down here to the tampa bay area. and when coming down or going north, i usually get on us1 and hit 301 to cut across the state then you can take the road that will take you right into gainesville. if you want i can look them up and tell you which way to go. it beats the super slab. |

I'm assuming Paul is BuellGator? If so, he never got back to me. I just called the dealership directly. I'm not entirely certain when I'll be headed toward Tampa. My plans are somewhat fluid...but any non-super-slab routes you can suggest are greatly appreciated. Thanks very much! Tipsy |

Thanks very much! I'm either stopping at a buddy's in JAX Beach to do some fishing on the way down or I'm going to hit him on the way back. If I'm headed to Gainesville from JAX, I'll just pick up your route somewhere west of the city. Thanks again! Tipsy |

Tipsy, If you could've waited until you got to sarasota, precision cycles will mount and balance your tire for the cost of the tire alone, IE, the tire costs $215.00, well that is all you pay, installed. And they have a great cafe in the shop to watch racing and have a cold one and a sandwich. I take my buells there, and my harley's and my dirtbikes and I must say they are by far the best people I have ever dealt with. So if you do make it to Sarasota go there and have a sandwich and a beer or soda, it is worth it to see the Highside Cafe, very cool place. Have a good ride. D PS My buddy owns a great Irish pub in bradenton, great place Rasher Tierney's. (Message edited by liquorwhere on April 15, 2009) |

Hey Neil, Yes I have them, added a few more since then, I lost the crank bearing in my XB, I have found that is common for that year of XB, what is hard to find is a crank from anywhere but HD, so...I have it torn down in my garage, I sold that house I had in December and got a condo, four car garage WOO HOO, that was the draw to the place, added a couple of dirt bikes, I just got the shock back for the tuber, that was an experience, but I will tell ya what that racetech revalve is sweet, I found that the X1 shock has the same seal as a CB600RR so this local guy was able to rebuild it, so the X1 is back in action, the Harley's are doing well, rode my springer up to Jacksonville a couple weekends back to see supercross, those guys are incredible....how are you and the wife doing? Still in florida or back up north...what was it tennessee or georgia? I didn't see a PM from you, I will have to check my email..sorry about that...well if you are in the area give me a shout ok?
