Okay, so the Airheads is a BMW club... But three of us have Buells now... and I predict more will have them in the future... The whole appeal of airheads (two valve air-cooled boxers) is their simplicity of design... Our Airhead motto is 'Simple by Choice'...

Well we all know how complex modern BMW's have become... That's led us to Buells to fill the gap left by BMW for a simple but modern motorcycle capable of handling modern traffic and riding demands...

Anyway, the Ontario Chapter of the Airheads, of which I've been Airmarshal for the last couple years, has an annual ride to Pennsylvania in August that we like to call the 'Pennsylvania Backroad Blam'... We don't have roads like this in Ontario... We like Pennsylvania roads... Like this one.... \image {Airhead fool on the loose in PA} |

image{My latest airhead} I won't drag out a bunch of tedious details and facts other than to say we had fun, rode our bikes, camped in a great spot (Hill's Creek State Park) and plan to do it again next year.... Only with more Buells along... You should join us... We'd love to meet ya.... later, Lornce |

Airhead Club Canons 1. AIRHEADS ride Beemers (and Buells) with air-cooled heads. 2. AIRHEADS believe that the simplest engineering solutions are best. 3. AIRHEADS appreciate function over form, fact over fiction, and friendship over friction. 4. AIRHEADS regard money as a tool, not a status symbol. 5. AIRHEADS are earthy people who like to camp. 6. AIRHEADS maintain their own motorcycles. 7. AIRHEADS don't take themselves, religion or life too seriously. 8. AIRHEADS like to share time, knowledge, parts and comraderie with other AIRHEADS.

Okay, guess I can't edit the image.... So I'll use this cube to introduce the picky in the next cube.... By way of explantion, I ain't a computer guy.... I make my living with wrenches and hammers and lathes and mills and torches and welders an blood an sweat.... not keyboards.... The picture comin up in the next cube is a 1972 R75/5 with 178k miles on it... The motor's never been rebuilt... It's an oil pig now though, goes through a whole quart every 1000 miles.... sheesh... |

Lornce, Nice photos in your posting frenzy. Have always had a thing for Beemers. Is that sniffing from a glove a Canadian thing or are you just trying to hide the booze from the cops ??? Charlotte |

Glad ya'll liked the pix, in spite of my Airhead moment... I was sober as a judge... doh. RT, thanks bro, believe the pulley's arrived. best, Lornce

Char, Would love to get you a t-shirt, but we're all sold out. We made 100 to commemorate Airhead Central at last summer's BMW Motorcycle Owners of America's National Rally in Trenton Ontario. Sold the T's at 100% above our cost and donated ALL the proceeds to Simon Millward to aid his Millennium Ride project. http:\www.millennium-ride.com Simon Having fun on a Buell S1 Lighting Check out his round the world adventure on a home made motorcycle to raise money for Doctors Without Borders projects in Asia and beyond. Simon's the real deal. Lornce |

Yer Right M2me, Those were my thoughts exactly. At the rate Ontario Airheads are switchin to Buells, I can see a trend developing club-wide.... Hey, I just bought my '96 S1 from a guy in Minneapolis named Jim Ellison.... I know it's a long shot, but ya don't know him do ya? ridin' simply, simply ridin, Lornce |
