http://www.cyclenews.com/articles/road-racing/2009 /04/13/buells-to-gain-weight Talk about penalizing a great rider. Looks like Buell's taking it in the tail pipe on this one. "The dominant Buell 1125s just got a little bit heavier, thanks to a new competition bulletin issued today by AMA Pro Racing. The Buells, which have won three of the five rounds of the Daytona Sportbike class in the hands of Danny Eslick, now have to weight 380 pounds - and not the 365 pounds they were allowed to run in the first five races. The other bikes in the class, meanwhile, all get to lose a bit of weight. Four-cylinder bikes can now weigh 360 pounds instead of the original 365; triples can weigh 365 instead of 375 and twins (except the Buell 1125) can weigh 380 pounds instead of 385. In SuperSport, the weight limits have also changed to mirror the new limits of the Daytona SportBike class." |

Maybe he can get Weight Watchers to sponsor him! Or maybe Jenny Craig... Ba$tards... Dominant, my sphincter. If it was a 123 finish I could understand. R |

Someone mentioned in another thread that the Buells haven't come in under 395 lbs post race yet, so the increase really means nothing. |

No, it's 380 per that bulletin for the 1125. The minimum allowed weight has been changed to 380 lbs from 365 lbs. |

No worries. Had to read it a couple times myself, as my riding buddy loves to give me crap about the "unfairness" of the 1125 in the Sportbike class this year. He usually shuts up after I dust him in the twisties. |

This happens in all forms of racing every season. Next year it'll be a different bike that everyone is complaining about. Just suck it up and roll with it like rmr boys are doing. |
