Does the new fuel injection (on XB bikes) automatically learn new fuel curves for mods on the bikes? I have an 05 12R, and I know that MY ECM can only bump up the fuel curve as a whole. AND, I think the range is limited. How limited is the range for MY ECM? Do the new ones have a more adjustable range, for different points in the fuel curve? I guess I'm relating this to my old Mustang. 86 thru 89/90 used a speed density system. The engine mods were limited by the capacity of the computer. I was able to mess with my intake, and exhaust, but if I wanted to put a cam in, I would have had to switch the system to Mass Air. In 90 Ford switched the system to mass air from the factory. With mass air, I could mod the motor any way I wanted, and the computer would adjust to it. Are the newer Buells the same way? The older systems being limited by the computer? |

Your DDFI does have the ability to adjust the Air/Fuel mixture but only by adjusting the entire fuel curve. It is somewhat limited on it's abilities. But with ECM Spy and a dyno you can change A/F and timing maps for each cylinder. As for mods the Race map does a pretty good job for exhaust and intake mods (done together). The dyno route is the best/safest way to go. |
