Does the new fuel injection (on XB bikes) automatically learn new fuel curves for mods on the bikes? I have an 05 12R, and I know that MY ECM can only bump up the fuel curve as a whole. AND, I think the range is limited. How limited is the range for MY ECM? Do the new ones have a more adjustable range, for different points in the fuel curve? I guess I'm relating this to my old Mustang. 86 thru 89/90 used a speed density system. The engine mods were limited by the capacity of the computer. I was able to mess with my intake, and exhaust, but if I wanted to put a cam in, I would have had to switch the system to Mass Air. In 90 Ford switched the system to mass air from the factory. With mass air, I could mod the motor any way I wanted, and the computer would adjust to it. Are the newer Buells the same way? The older systems being limited by the computer?

Your DDFI does have the ability to adjust the Air/Fuel mixture but only by adjusting the entire fuel curve. It is somewhat limited on it's abilities. But with ECM Spy and a dyno you can change A/F and timing maps for each cylinder. As for mods the Race map does a pretty good job for exhaust and intake mods (done together). The dyno route is the best/safest way to go.
