no frame sliders that i know of, just axle sliders Al at American sport bike carries them | ||

There was a post last fall that said the pods are supposed to function as frame sliders. I can personally attest to their value as sliders. They look pretty bad if you need to slide em but your bike won't dig in and flip. And they're only ~$60. | ||

Thanks for info guys. I dropped my brand new 1125 the other day with 52 miles on it and scratched several things but luckly nothing damaging. | ||

The pods have some type of leaf spring type thing inside them designed to take a pretty good blow. They're also cheaper to replace than many frame sliders out there for other bikes. | ||

I slid mine at about 20-25 mph. Front tire was too old and washed out on me. I slid about 20-30 feet on the right side. 10 points of contact on the bike(3 or 4 on me...), pod and clutch cover took the brunt of the damage. Rear slider from Dark Horse and my bar-end needed clean-up in the lathe. Z | ||

I low sided at about 50mph and the pods did a great job. I had the sliders from Dark Horse Moto on the fork,swingarm, and barend and they did an awesome job. I only had to replace the right mirror, slider on the bar end, the right pod, and the button on the clutch cover. The end of the brake lever got ground down a little, but it is still serviceable. I just took a black magic marker and covered up the shiny, scratched part. The fairing also got some minor scratches on it. The bottom line is that the pods did a great job absorbing damage and the sliders from Dark Horse Moto are a must, in my opinion. Mike | ||

I was wondering what did the right pod cost to replace when you layed it down. | ||

I checked with my dealer on the cost of a pod and they said if was about $60. | ||

I got the pod for $55 the mirror was also $55. The clutch puck was about $6, but that was the Rev A cover. I have since upgraded to the Rev B ('09) cover, Which is more expensive (not sure how much they cost, but the puck is more durable). Mike | ||
