I am looking for a tail bag to mount on the triple tail (folded down) that is large enough to hold a laptop PC for commuting. The Buell backpack is too tall (how does one ever swing their leg over it). Any recommendations? BTW, I only ride solo so taking up space on the rear section of the seat is no problem. |

Learn kung fu, thats how I swing my leg over mine Actually I never noticed it interfering with me getting on the bike, I need to pay attention to how I am doing it. |

Tourmaster / Coretech makes a nice selection, decent quality and inexpensive. |

I also have the Buell tail pack. It's nice, but too large for stuff I need for the daily commute. Also, no compression straps makes it a bit floppy when it's not fully loaded. On that note, mine's in a outdoor gear repair shop getting compression straps fitted as we speak. I'll pose pics when I get it back. |

I am using the Cortech tail bag. I modified the strap system, so it works on the tail, with it up or down. It's not real Big, but it will fit my leather riding jacket with no problem,

I have (I think) the same one. I'm very pleased with it. It fits snugly on the rear and is very unobtrusive. The volume is substantial and the sides expand to add quite a few more cubes. A- |

Check out Rev Pack line. They have quality products and great service that can't be beat plus a wide range of shapes and sizes. All of their products are made in California. I've bought from them twice and highly recommend them. http://revpack.com |

Rmcconnell33, Can you provide more details or photos of how you mounted yours? I was hoping to mount directly to the 3/way tail piece and not have to bungee to the grab rails. |

R32nj I am on the road for work. so i can't get you a picture. But the Cortech bag has built in bunge cords, which i removed, and installed a flat style bunge through the bottom of the bag/and around the triple tail. i will get you a picture in a couple of weeks.. |

I'm using the Saddlestow Taos sissybar bag. It's made for cruisers, and fits my wife's V-Star. I mounted it onto the triple tail with the 'top' facing aft, and the Triple Tail in the forward down position. Nice thing is that it has internal straps that secure the laptop. The bag zips out really big if you want to fit 2 bags of groceries. http://www.discount-motorcycle-parts.net/saddlesto w-taos-sissy-p-423.html You can close it down, and make it very unobtrusive. I like it better than anything I've seen designed specifically for the Buell. Doug |

straps attach to the triple tail
If you want to pack a passenger, you can turn the bag the other way. Pretty secure. I can fit 2 bags of groceries. Even a medium/large pizza. Can't do that with panniers! |

I know It sounds weird but drop by your local bicycle shop. The triple tail is the same size and shape as a bicycle rack. There are some very good top rack bags out there. (Message edited by rclaytonsharp on April 18, 2009) |
