Holy shat his place is dead here lately. Matt we were going to do the fork thing but that is when I though Becky's old forks were bent, I am not going to donate a perfectly good fork that I can sale and recover some of the cost on the re-build of her bike. |

okay, thanks jimmy. but are we all gonna still chip in to get a fork spring compression tool (HD-45966) and/or fork seal driver? i'm sure it is doable with out the purchase of special tools, but i'm sure they make it a hell of alot easier. |

Goody...I just got back from my daughter's "Birthday Bowling Bash!" and now I've gotta take the wife out to dinner. Maybe after that we'll grab a drink somewhere...hit me up with a text if you venture out to grab some "spiritual" refreshments. |

I'm the same way. Plus, with my luck, by the time I needed to use it, it would probably be about 2 months AFTER I moved. Everyone pumped about this weekend's BBQ? Saturday can't come fast enough! Mel, were we gonna do a ride in the AM and then show up at Buckroe, or did we want to get everything set up, or what? |

Hey Guys, I would love to do a ride in the morning on Sat ending up at Buckroe, or at least have us all start from some place and then ride into Buckroe all together. I figure if you're gonna ride Sat and you don't have a significant other to bring stuff over to the beach, then you can drop it off at my house Friday night or early Sat morning. But heck yeah, I checked the forecast and right now it's supposed to be 70 and partly cloudy... Perfect!!! |

Hey Kev, I was looking for the same thing. I found this schedule shortly after Road Atlanta. I still haven't seen a race yet.... If you can use it great! if you can record one even better! That way you can invite me over to watch it with you! my saturday nights rarely end in me watching TV! |

Yeah and then all of your oil leaks up into your cylinders and then you destroy your engine. Sounds like a great idea to me.

i have been workin' those damned cages today and finally made 'em fit! it took me a few trips to the hardware store, for some fasteners i seriously doubt any average guy would have... (for example 5 1/2" bolts and a 3" threaded coupler) but i am satisfied with the end results... except where i gouged the paint with the wrenches jason, go ahead and hit me up so we can talk. |

Well.. the oil is in the swing arm... the engine should be above that, so technically the oil would need to migrate uphill. (don't see that happening) No, I'm not a motorcycle mechanic, but i did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night! |

Some oil remains in the bottom of the engine. It is the same thing if you lay a bike down on its side or anything oil is a liquid and can seep past the rings into the actual cylinder (more than likely the rear if the bike is in a 12 o'clock position or both if it is on its side). Enough oil in the cylinder and when the piston comes up for the compression stroke (both valves will be closed) it can blow the rings out causing massive damage to the piston and jugs, or even blow out the cylinder wall. If you do leave it standing on a 12 o'clock bar I would just recommend letting the bike set normal for a little while before trying to fire it back up. Why are you guys having your forks redone and spending this time and effort to do it? Why don't you send them to Factory-Connection or Pro-Action suspension for about $200 and have them reseal and change the oil in them? Its cheaper than going to Harley D. and since the forks are Showa forks...they will have the parts. They do all the work on my MX bike fork seals. Some things in my mind shouldn't be messed with unless you have the proper setup to do it and forks/shocks is one of them. Just my 2cents. Goody |
