It looks normal. Does it make noise on the pulley cover when riding?

So the reassembly went fine?
Easy huh?
There is nothing you can do about where the belt rides other than shimming the wheel sprocket.

Beautiful Machine... bravo!!
BTW, Last time I posted, it was a hit and run, so, here is the former banana blast and a list of mods.
Random superbike bars
V&H exhaust
velocity stack(can't see here)
Random cafe fairing(bought off of a fellow badwebber)
comfort gel handgrips
mircycle bar end mirrors(from a local bike shop)
rattlecan flat black paint(to make it fast!)

still to come in the near future:tail and seat chop, cafeish rear, homemade rearsets, and probably a linex paint job(lower maintenance)

Honestly, I have no idea. A badwebber from the tuber side had it and it looked adaptable so I picked it up. Couldn't even tell you his name. Interesting mounting it though. I filled in the original mounting holes, bent the stock brackets, used 1/2 inch spacers, rubber bushings(tried without... omg what a racket) some long screws and drilled to fit. I kinda like the way it turned out.

oh yeah... saved the front turn signals by boring out the brackets in another hole already there and moving them down, was kinda partial to the way they looked with this fairing.

I've got some photos to share of my mods after my accident a month ago. I went down doing @ 50mph on black ice. The bike fared really well all things considering with nothing more than a damaged right foot peg, shattered windshield, cracked right grip and a cracked right turn signal outer lens. $5.50 for a new set of front turn signals, $9 for a new foot peg and about $15 for a new throttle and grips and she's back in action.

Let's start with my new air cleaner. I LOVE this new cleaner! Got it on ebay and only had to do minor modding to the mounting plate with a rotary tool to have it fit on the Blast. I also had to take the rotary tool to the take plastic to notch out around the air filter. Nothing but sweetness!

And now my exhaust mod. I only had access to an 1.5" hole bit but it did the trick! It has changed the entire personality of the bike and now sounds like a real HD. You should have seen the looks on all the Harley riders yesterday when I took her out for a spin. =)

I rejetted the carb 45/170 but haven't yet adjusted the mix screw or put in the shims. It still runs great though and the sound is UNBELIEVABLE! I am in love with the P3 all over again. It now lives up to it's name!

I shortened the bars on both sides to clean up the right side where the asphalt tore it up and mounted new billet bar-end mirrors. Absolutely vibration free and a clean & clear view of the road aside and behind me. Best of all it only cost $40 for the pair.

Since the highway wind shield got shattered when the bike went down I had to put the original fly screen back on the bike. I think it fits the new personality of the bike much better anyway. I also like the look of the socket capped screws. Very purposeful and touch looking. In this pic you can also see my new turn signals.

I still need to make up a pair of rear sets but that will come as I get more money. Best of all it only took a few hours to do it all including numerous other issues that had been waiting to get done. Best afternoon I've spent on the bike yet!

Looks fantastic. What tire are you running in the rear?

I like the way the signals re tight, and close to the headlamp.

I am also glad to know that I am not the only one who doesn't bathe the Blast every week.

Bike at the Lake

2000 Buell Blast
1500 Miles
Previous owner had bike custom painted as well as re-jetted and new exhaust. Everything else is stock as far as I can tell.

Great bike, only owned it since last August but it can really zip me through Milwaukee as well as be a joy to ride around the twisties of Western Wisconsin.

Rylie, that rear tire is a Pirelli ST66 in 140/70S. I have between 2000-2500 miles on it and it still looks like new. So far I really like it. It's a little cold-blooded but on warm days it sticks like glue but on cold days it takes a while to warm up. Ride is solid and I haven't really run out of grip yet except when I have run up on the pulley guard but that's not the tire's fault... LOL. It wears like iron and only ran me $65 from motorcycle-superstore with free shipping. I put a lot of miles on my bike and they are a great compromise for me between mileage and handling. If you looked at the tires in person you would see that I have no problem running them as far as they can go towards the edges.

As for the dirt, I ride rain or shine and, in the case of my accident, apparently when it's icy out too. Anyways, I still haven't washed it from when it went down so it's still covered in normal rainy day dirt and gravel and debris from the slide it took. But I will admit that it's not a garage queen and I ride the hell out of it and am not afraid to let it show. I always pick on the Harley guys at work that dote over their rides and never take them out unless there is zero chance of rain. It's gonna get a thorough scrubbing this weekend though if not sooner.

Zen, I bought the air cleaner from ebay off a seller named "choppahead1970". It was listed as a "RAM-FLO OLD SCHOOL HARLEY AIR CLEANER FILTER". I just checked his store and he has none currently listed. You could always contact him and let him know you are interested. He might be able to get you one. I payed $32.95 + $9 shipping. FAR cheaper than a real RAM-FLO and it is really good quality too!

The tank bag is nothing more than a mini-backpack I got from Walmart. Check my old posts for a complete write up I did on how to mount it. Only cost me $15 total for the bag, straps & velcro.

Line-x rocks, I went and had it sprayed, put the fairings on just now, have to say I absolutely love it. Now, all I have to do is apply the custom graphics my wife is currently designing. Will post more pics when it is done!

Spent the weekend putting my bike back together. Here are the results:

CR Blast

Powdered

Cutom Crossroads

Powder coated: wheels (and pinstriped), brakes, CrossRoads' fork brace, rearsets, and pulley cover. Also had my handlebar risers done.

Added a K&N, opened up most of the airbox, and modded the exhaust for freer breathing. Midrange is much better and it growls a bit now.

Threw on some Avon Viperstrykes for good measure.

To do: re-jet, put in Desno plug put on Gaffler brake pads.
