Hey, I just had my first issue with my 2008 Ully in 2 years. I was 150 miles into a 200 mile ride, when I stopped in Johnson City to get gas. As I was pulling out heading down 2766 at about 40mph I reset the trip1 odometer and "BAM" there was no response from the throttle. The red oil light came on and I had to coast onto the shoulder of the road. I turned the bike off, did a once over on the cables and everything looked OK, after about 5 min I tried to restart the bike and everything worked fine the rest of the way back.

Any ideas on what happened, how can I check the computer to see any codes? Wasn't there an issue with the electronics on the earlier Ully's, I thought I read something similar to this on one of the message boards?

Thanks
Ray

The only time that mine ever died like that was when I had a bad ground on the frame where the battery cable lands. Have you had any other symptoms, especially hard starting where it sounds like the battery is low and the lights flickering when starting? Mine is an '08 also.

Once I overfilled the fuel tank into the vent line. My bike started missing and threw a check engine light on.
The engine never died though and it cleared shortly afterward.

My engine never actually died, I just had no response from the throttle. Coasting off the road was no big deal, I am just happy I was not on the Highway having to cut across a lane or two of traffic with no power. The first thing I checked was that the throttle cable was not broken. It looked fine. The rest of the exposed stuff looked OK also. When I restarted the engine it started with no hesitation.

Is there a way to get the code from the Check Engine Light like in a car or do I need a dongle to read it?
