Any Pros/Cons? $140 seems like a pretty good deal for some over pants. Looking for something to add a little more protection to my jeans on the 30 mile commute to and from work.

Hi Andrew,

I got a pair of those when I first got the bike. Been real happy with them. real comfortable on short and long rides. Easy on and off for changing in/out of them at work. Of course they are not waterproof, but they will slow down your getting soaked if it's just a quick shower. They seem to breath good on the warmer days while still providing good wind resistance. I was surprised at the wind/cold protection that was provided on a garment that has the removable panels for extra ventilation on those real hot days. The armor fits and feels comfortable on and off the bike and is much more substantial than Kevlar jeans. Among all my other riding gear, I still use these often. for me they really shine on a Dual-sport type ride where you need good protection out in the sticks where you are more susceptible to tree and brush scrapes or tip-overs on the trail. And if they do get trail damage, they are cheap to replace. mike

I paid $120 for mine. They've proven to be worth every penny...good for warm and cold. I had to flip the knee-pads upside down for a better fit. I can't say that I've ever worn them over pants though, either skivies or long underwear.

So, Mbest, you wear them over jeans? Or just the pants on their own as Niceguyeddy does? I was looking at them as overpants for commuting. It sounds like these may not be a good fit for that duty. Anyone using these as overpants?

Hi Jon,

Works great for me as overpants. Never tried tried them buy themselves. Lots of flexibility and comfort over my regular and kevlar jeans. Room for my Sidi track boots and my FXRG boots W/O being too baggy. Mine are still going strong. I have several pair of other riding pants that cost two and three plus times more, and I still wear these 50% of the time.

No regrets.

Thanks Mike,

Good to know. The front zipper in my JR Ballistic 5.0 pants blew and they are my main Buell wear. I will attempt to repair them, but it is nice to have a target replacement that will work for me at a reasonable price. They also sound like a good summer switch up.

last fall I bought the ballistic and rode out to the Buell dealer. The sales guy was real happy to show me the new Adventure pants and jacket. I was upset that the pants were cheaper than the Ballistics. The fly on the ballistics is kind of weird stupid and I couldn't stop the legs from catching all the wind when riding.
I tried on the Adventure pants, always wear overpants. Make sure you squat to see where the knee armour goes. There's two pockets.
I bought them. The only problem I have is that you have to take your boots off to take the pants off. I've worn them at about freezing and they're warm enough with jeans and underarmour leggings. The zip off panels cool in the heat. In the real hot, I'll probably switch back to vented Joe Rocket pants. I'll know that this weekend.
