When a gps is plugged in to the power outlet do you need put a rain cover around it to prevent water from shorting it out? I've never used my power outlet and plan to power my gps with it but wonder about water getting in. |

I have my Starcom installed in my tank-bag and I plug it into the aux. power outlet, rain has not caused me any problems (so far ). 12 volts won't push much current through relatively clean rainwater. |

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I'll proceed according to plan. |

I use it with my Garmin and have ridden several times in the rain. No problem. |
