I just got an email about the Norton 961. If you want an information pack sent from the new company in England then go to this link: http://www.nortonmotorcycles.com/contact/index.php Here's the website http://www.nortonmotorcycles.com/ |

Great. Now I'm pining for my 73 Commando.
That 961 is one bad-*ss lookin beast. It looks to be the same model that the U.S. owner tried to bring to market. Is it still pre-unit construction? It would be cool if they put the shifter and rear brake levers back on their proper sides of the bike and stuck with 1up/4down shift pattern (my 73 had a 5-speed Quaife). Lots of nice parts and pieces to it. Who's going to be the first to order? |

A buddy of mine had an 850 Commando back in the day and it was pretty cool. One night we were coming back from somewhere or other at 1 am in the morning and cresting this hill when a raccoon ran out in the road an the Norton's center stand scooped the gray matter right out of that coons brain bucket and flipped him right into the ditch ( the coon that is). Kinda made me feel sad for the poor little bugger. Never felt a thing I'm certain. |

Sorry, Tootal. I was being facetious yesterday. I promise to retire all those photos. |

At $60,000 I'm not sure I'd be interested. . . . at $8,000 maybe. I always smell "vaporware" when they shroud the bike in hyperbole absent price. |

Sorry, Tootal. I was being facetious yesterday. I promise to retire all those photos. It's a beautiful machine so keep showing it, I'm just going to have to wear a bib! |

Found this posting after being away for the holidays. There was a similar posting on ADVRider recently, as well. I had a deposit for one of the Signature Series 961s back when Kenny Dreer was still running the show. Cut it out will you ?
