I had to go to the local shop to pick up some body parts for my Ss, and they had both an 1125R and an 1125CR side by side. I was shocked to discover I actually like the R better in person!
I've never thought the R photographs well, but I thought the CR was dead sexy in pics. In person though, I found the CR looks good, but the R is impossible to ignore, especially in red. I couldn't sit on the R because of the way they had the bikes packed in, but I did get to butt-fit the CR. LOVE it. It's much less cramped than my Ss, and the clubman bars feel perfect.
Alas, that was the extent of my window shopping. I picked up my parts and went home to battle the Loc-tite.
The 1125 R has definitely grown on me. I still don't think it's even in the top three sexiest bikes, but it isn't as ghastly as I originally thought. Only time will tell how the looks will age. Is it a trend setter that will look fresh in 10 years (MV Agusta F4) or an SRAD Gixxer that will look like it was designed 10 years before it was?
are u guys jealous that i live in maine and can see the ocean rate now. can people say the best sea food in the united states rate on my door step.!!!! let me know ill send u some fresh lobster if u wont
The R is way better looking. The CR just looks light in the front like something is missing. I ride with about 30 bikers from work and no matter where we go or what we are doing people gather around my bike just to bask in the AWSESOMENESS.(1125r)
Ya know... If I HAD an 1125CR, I think I'd HAVE to take it down to Cycle Delics to get it painted up to resemble a cooked lobster. They're the ones who did the "Lightning" motif on my old XB12Ss a few years back.
That's great, glad you like it. I have ridden both. Bought the CR instead. It better suited my persona. Wicked fast either way. The CR causes more fights with other sportbikes,(in my opinion), I don't care. Squids splat either way.
