Why all the hate? There wasn't any hate. |

So that statement is true or just another sarcastic dig at the 1125r? Just wondering. |

Some of us get a little thin skinned when we talk about American content in our products. I'll take what I can get but it would be nice if their was more. Maybe Rotax to transfer production to one of the former OMC plants, then this supposed problem would go away. |

The 1125R engine is about as "Buell" as it gets. Eric and team had a lot to do with the design and development of this engine. If you would like to know more, pm Court and let him explain it. Buell bid the engine out. Even HD had a crack at it and couldn't compete with Rotax. For any who are familiar with Buell's, the 1125R definitely handles, stops, turns and "torques" like a Buell. It may not be "American" enough for you but it's certainly "Buell" enough for me. So there! |

So that statement is true I'll assume you are smart enough to know that statement isn't true and your comment was just a lead in to accuse me of a sarcastic dig at the 1125R. If not, the word rumor should have given it away. Maybe the fact that there isn't a Buell in production with a V4 to approve for that class would give it away. It was a JOKE with a little dig (not towards Buell). or just another sarcastic dig at the 1125r? I'm not sure I've ever made a "sarcastic dig" at the 1125R, but it is possible. I have said in the past that I didn't care much for the look of the fairing or the pods, but it has grown on me a little. Well, maybe not the pods. I obviously don't have a problem with the bike since I was supposed to buy the one Jpfive was selling about a month ago for a track bike. Money got in the way and Buellsrule bought it. I had some issues with my Uly when I owned it, but I have nothing against Buells in general. If I did, I wouldn't have any interest here and I would have never bought one. But, I don't bleed Buell and I don't drink Buell Kool-aid. I like a lot of different brands. Since you are "just wondering", it was a slight dig at the AMA rules. I don't agree with all the class structures. If the AMA decided to let the 1098/1198 compete in every class except GT2, I wouldn't agree with that either. But, I didn't write the rules and I didn't decide which bike should be in which classes because it's not my series. If the rules don't seem fair as the series goes on (for any bike, in any class), I hope that AMA adjusts them. Just to be clear, no matter how I feel about the rules has no reflection on how I feel about Buell motorcycles or any brand. I think there are some on here that can't seperate the two and get defensive, but I can. Hope that answers your question. (Message edited by dentguy on April 08, 2009) |
